3 Simple Rules To Live By

1. If you don't ask, the answer will always be "no". It's relatively easy for me to share how I feel. But it's often incredibly difficult for me to assertively express what I want. Instead, what I do is I provide the many options available, then I sit back. And wait. And hope against hope that the people around me somehow develop mind-reading powers and miraculously infer what I really want out of all the options provided. -_-''' But I guess it's really no surprise that miracles like those rarely ever happen and I often end up disgruntled, disappointed and destined to live with the choices others prefer. T_T

2. If you don't go after what you want, you'll never have it. Procrastination and Hesitation are my greatest enemies. Because aside from being incapable of saying what I want outright, I also find myself stalling time in hopes that what I want will eventually fall right into my lap instead of me having to actively reach out and catch it as it zooms by. My fault entirely, I know. But it's tough chasing dreams when you don't really know what the variables are, how big the opportunity costs are, and how highly the odds are stacked against you! *wails*

3. If you don't step forward, you'll always just be where you are. Yeah, theoretically, that's true. But the fear of the unknown along with all the mucho-many, airy-fairy possibilities that lie ahead of me keep freaking me out big time! T_T Plus, stepping forward when you're looking at a lifetime together with another becomes an increasingly complicated process. What if our steps don't fall in sync? What if one lags behind? What if one gets left behind?? @_@ Stressss... Baby steps boleh? Think that's the best I can manage at the moment. :-/

At the risk of sounding trite and completely lame for quoting a film so devoid of real substance, this still seems appropriate to say:

"You have all the weapons you need. Now fight."

Naw, I watched it for the stimulating philosophical themes about self and freedom, its inspiring message of sacrifice and camaraderie, the stellar employment of the most up-to-date, cutting edge graphics and visual effects, and also its liberal inclusion of samurais and dragons and zombies.

Wait, there were women innit? :-p
