Break A Leg

And not in a good way.

A Superman action figurine I saw at a mini toy store.

I think this Superman needs the ER. Or a wheelchair. And new abs. Definitely new abs. I mean, like, why do they look the way they do, yo?! (Look at that! I just did the 'like' thing like a pro-bimbohead! I blame House Bunny for the influence. Will blog that soon.) Why are they spilling out of his sides?? So totally spastic. And it doesn't look like his belt allows his diaphragm much room for breathing. Oh, and don't get me started on the red underwear, alrights? Let's not go there.

Little Superhero Girl

Artist: Corrinne May
Song Title: Little Superhero Girl

I feel like a little girl
Trying to conquer the whole wide world
Everybody wants a piece of me
And I just don't know where to turn
I've got work piled up to my head
All I want to do is jump into bed
And wash away my troubles with lemonade
Play hide and seek with the boy next door
Take a trip to Singapore
And imagine how I'll make the world a better place

All I need is a good disguise
One where nobody can recognize
That I'm feeling so small
All I need is a secret weapon
I've gotta have faith
Zapping monsters into outer space
I'm gonna be a superhero

Na na na na na na
Na na na na na na na
Na na na na na na, yeah

If I were a little girl
Trying to clean up the whole wide world
I'd kick the bad boys back to school
Teach them fighting's just not cool
I'd give every kid a teddy bear
Turn starving people into millionaires
Break glass ceilings with dynamite
Sprinkle a little sugar and spice
Turn the bullies that terrorize
Into pink poodles that bark but don't bite

All I need is a good disguise
One where nobody can recognize
That I'm feeling so small
All I need is a secret weapon
I've gotta have faith
Zapping monsters into outer space
I'm gonna be a Superhero

Na na na na na na
Na na na na na na na
Na na na na na na, yeah

Little superhero girl
Little superhero girl
Save me
Little superhero girl
Little superhero girl
Save me from myself

I feel like a little girl
Trying to conquer the whole wide world

"I feel like a little girl
Trying to conquer the whole wild world"

Some days, I look around me and... well, I feel small. Puny, in fact. Because there are so many other people out there who're greater than I am. Smarter than I am. Wiser than I am. More experienced than I am. Funnier than I am. Prettier than I am. Argh, they're just a whole lot better than I am. And I get scared. Scared of the big boys (and girls). Scared of the bigger, better boys (and girls). Because they make me realise that compared to them, I am nothing. And they cause me to wonder if I'll ever make it to where they're at.

"Everybody wants a piece of me
And I just don't know where to turn"

I've been so short of Me Time of late, that I've begun feeling like I've neglected myself for YEARS. It's crazy! No time to read (yeah, I went book shopping last weekend =p), no time to blog (not as much as I want to lah), no time to take drought-bringing hour-long showers, and definitely no time to burn oxygen-zapping scented candles for kicks. Damn sad case.

"I've got work piled up to my head
All I want to do is jump into bed"

Now, work of late, I must say is REALLY crazy. No kidding! I've got so much to do right now that I really don't know which JR to tackle first anymore. Psycho clients and crazy deadlines don't help either. -_-' I need a holiday. A good, long break (that doesn't include me coming back to work again *snicker*). One that allows me plenty of Me Time alongside plenty of Sleep Time. And Read Time. And Laze-About Time. Oh, and some So-You-Think-You-Can-Dance Time wouldn't hurt either. Tee hee.

Argh, so tired can die. Really beh tahan.

Thank goodness I'm Superhero Girl.
Tene nene! Tene nene!

Not Your Average Super Hero

"Who?" you ask.

Me.

Tene nene. Tene nene.

*insert super cool superhero soundtrack here*

BUT...

I don't use an invisibility cloak like Harry Potter. No, siree. That's yesterday's technology. Out of date. No longer fashionable. Sooooo passé. I, the great, stealthy, undetectable, inconspicuous superhero (superheroine just sounds wrong somehow) PAMSONG, works with only the highest-tech, superest-advanced means of achieving invisibility.

*pauses for added drama*

She uses the AMAZING. INVISIBILITY. MINTS!
(I know you saw the tin already but please
say, "Ooo," here. It helps with my story.)

Heh heh heh. Bruce would be so jealous if he knew.
(Yes, the Batman and I are best buds,
didn't you know? And best buds always
refer to each other on a first name basis.)

So lemmie now demonstrate – in other words, show off – the super power-ness of my AMAZING INVISIBILITY MINTS. Hold on tight and prepare to be wow-ed.

TADA!!!

Taken a day before my haircut. =p

Hah! Terror or not?

"Terrer. Very terrer."
(That was YOU talking, btw.)

Anyhew, I don't know if this entry thus far qualifies me for tickets to the Nuffnang Exclusive Private Screening of Hancock... (Read about the contest here.) ...even though I'm a real undercover superhero in real life and I have real super powers.

*cough cough*

Dun wan show off only.

*cough cough*

So I'm just gonna crap about the other superheroes who're always trying to join Batman and I in our very-exclusive league of two superheroes, as well as describe the problem's I think they'd face if there were living in our world.

Superman: I think he'd have problems changing in the phone booth. Like, hello. Got tiny windows wan lah. No shame ah let the whole world see everything? Tsk tsk. And if anything, those red phone booths are pretty tiny lo. It's not like he's very small sized so I'd suggest he lose 10kg or so. Be as trim as I am. Then maybe – just maybe – he'd have a fighting chance. Oh, and that red underwear on the outside has got to go.

Robin: The totally useless sidekick of dear ol' Bruce. I think I'll have to suggest a pay reduction for the fellow. He's not doing much, if you ask me. Plus, that outfit? Gosh. So salah!

Spiderman: I think he started off pretty well lah in his superhero career. And then he fell in love. (Stupid boy. Cari pasal only with all that upside-down kissing.) After that, it pretty much went downhill from there. Oh, and I personally think that his face mask is a CO2 trap, man. How does the dude breathe under all that latex!? Ridiculous-ness.

The Incredible Hulk: I think it's silly how he always rips and tears his clothes to shreads. Too much money issit? And how come everything rips but his pants from the waistband to the knee? A bit fake right? Or does his butt not grow when his whole body increases in size? Tell me! You tell me? No make sense at all. And I don't appreciate the way he isn't in control of his powers. It's like a green madman running through the city half naked, man. Where's the heroism in that?

Flash Gordon: Forrest Gump wins hands down. Nuff said.

I think this should be enough kua. Haha. I name-dropped a lot already so this post had better win me a couple of tickets ya, Nuffnang? Haha. =p

Actually, this post also became the perfect excuse for me to show off you my mints from my latest vacation location. Mints that the dear boyfriend bought me while I was there.

One's mine, the other's his. No points
in guessing which belonged to which one of us.

Also, I finally found the black, tie-at-the-back vest like I wanted!!! No pictures as yet to show you the front part (you saw the back already further up this post) but, take my word for it, it was EXACTLY like what I was looking for. Imagine that! Haha. Thank goodness I didn't settle for anything else when I was away on vacation! Went all over my holiday location hunting around for a nice one but just never found the perfect vest. Everything I saw was just ok-ok only. Didn't really tug at my heart (or my boyfriend's wallet).

Plus, they all cost ridiculous amounts of money lah, if you ask me. The cheapest I found was about RM95, while the most expensive one I saw was priced at about RM220 (after currency exchange). Crazy or not??? To me, that's crazy. Not to mention it'd make me stupid if I actually bought it. So I was glad to have found the one I did, and to have only paid RM29 for it! Woo hoo!

See? Moral of the story is this:

Superhero PAMSONG always knows the best
places to shop without busting your budget.

Now...

I WANT MY TICKETS TO
HANCOCK, NUFFNANG!!!

(Thankyous you. You very many niceness.)

Camerama-Cameroo: Part 2

So, enough about illegal races. We're here to talk about Cameron's and not speeding cars so let's stay focused, shall we? I'll try to make it as short and as sweet as I can but I tend to get carried away so don't hold me to this if I do. =)

In Cameron's...

1. They're into making stuff really big. Exaggeration's probably the "in" thing here. Found a gigantor pencil that helped me rediscover my love for writing, and almost died choking on a killer block of ice that came in my limau ais.

These people don't abide by the Law of Proportion.
And that, of course, leads me into #2.

2. They're into really small, absolutely teeny-tiny stuff. It's crazy! It's one extreme or the other in Cameron's. No such thing as moderation. But me being me, I luurrrvvveee teeny-tiny stuff so that's the extreme that I'm all for. It gets my vote – both hands and two feet in the air. Bought a tiny, red marketing basket that could possibly be entirely useless in the real world... but what the heck, I liked it. I like it so many manys!

3. They're into realistic-looking, life-sized fake pets.
The heavy, wooden, carved kind. Workmanship's pretty good, I must say. Everything's quite detailed. It looks really, really... well, realistic. But do you really want a pet that only has ONE pose... and does nothing else? Sien lah. I suggest you only go with this one if your other option is getting a cat. Pfft. Now, that one's totally good for nothing. *snicker*

4. Everything blooms. And they bloom like big, big, big! And so many, many, manys! So nice lah. I like. If only everything flowered as well as they do up there, they wouldn't have to replant the flowers alongside our highways as often as they do, if at all. I blame the temperature down here. With an average daily temperature of 34ºC, it's no wonder everything shrivels up and dies. Flowers already do. And believe you me, if we keep living the way we do and exploiting the Earth as terribly as we do, we're next. Do your part today and say "NO" to global warming!

5. There's waaay too much vegetation. They come in rows – ENDLESS rows. On the slopes of Cameron Highlands and in tourist stops all the way up and down the mountain. It's like a flora fest there any day, every day, everywhere! No exaggeration needed.

6. The pathways look unusually good. Even though they're old, misshapen, uneven and badly cracked. Maybe it's just cos here, there are nice greens lining both sides of the concrete rather than even more raised concrete. It just looks better that way, you know? Very pleasing to the eye. Nice.

7. They've got grammar problems they need to look into. Right now, their grammarizing like not so many fantasic, you know? Based on what they have now, Mr Shoplifting-the-Action would be sitting in jail for the crimes of other itchy-fingered criminals, and restaurants would be perfectly roasted till golden brown. Blur? You'll probably have to click on the images to read, understand, and catch my drift. Click! Click! Click!

8. They've mastered the art of imitation goods. Forget Petaling Street. The ultimate destination for fake-goods shopping is now Cameron Highlands. Check out Kang Li and you'll see. Sigh. Poor Buncho. I've had such an affinity with it since I grew up doodling on art block with those messy little paper wrapped oil pastels. You know, I swear my kids will draw with the original stuff. None of this Kang Li fakes for them.

9. They've got tolerable birdies. Even had one on the palm of my hand while it flapped its wings. You could buy one. They're pretty cheap. Very affordable. They cost less than RM10 so... go nuts.

10. They have Spiderman. The ultimate highlight of my trip. This particular set of pictures required my Hidden Camera Technique. It's been awhile since I last used it. =p Anyway, back to Spidey. He was really short and his head was slightly deformed. And oddly enough, the superhero was hunched over and shivering in the cool breeze. But, oh well... this sure brings new meaning to "Heroes live among us" for me. I call it Fate. Call me Mary Jane Watson, please.

Alright, that's enough about Cameron Highlands for one morning.
More to come in the next Camerama-Cameroo! Ta!

Go, Ultraman!

Went for lunch and saw the weirdest home EVER.

I just couldn't resist snapping a shot or two.

I wonder what the people living there are like. Haha. Maybe they all walk around with capes, masks, and their underwear on the outside. That'd be sooooo cool. Kinda makes me wish I grew up in a home half as weird.

A Superhero Was Born Today

Benevolent fictional characters
with superhuman powers appeal to me.

Sweet-talk, they offer none. But what's sweet-talk in the bigger scheme of things? Nope, it is nothing. (Hah! Never thought I'd say that, did ya? I made an exception. Just this once. Hold it against me and I'll hunt you down with the help of my superhero friends.)

Their irresistible pull comes from something far greater. It comes from their selfless nature, their self-sacrificing character, and their unbelievably admirable ability to give up any possibility of living normal lives. It is the pursuit of the interests and welfare of others, to help advance a cause other than their own.

Tene nene! Tene nene! Bring out the big guns, boys!
For it's time to wear your underwear inside out.

JENG!

To hell with the whole happy family scenario with picnics by the sea and children running in the backyard! That shall remain but a dream. In the real world (pfft), superheroes fight for a prettier bigger picture for the sake of all you boring, powerless mortals.

Alright. Enough with the introductions.
Before you think me totally cuckoo, here's the story.

Say a great big smiley 'hi' to superhero me, for today, I joined the ranks of Spidey, Invisible Woman, Flash, Catwoman and all others who wear tight spandex (they should probably upgrade to Lycra), form-fitting outfits. All hail G-strings and granny panties for I shall not proceed to save the world with VPLs to my name. From this day forth, I shall dress the part to the best of my ability and make the crew proud. "Fashionable" will be my middle name!

Introducing the latest addition to my wardrobe...

I'm in the club, yo.

And just you check out where I got my gear.

Terror or not?

It was superhero fashionista heaven, I tell you!
They've even got my outfit in different colours!

Hmmm.

And I should really do Catwoman a girlie favour
and tell her that her kitty outfit's a little outdated.
Some black-is-in stock just came in at a real bargain.

AARRRGGHHH! I LOVE MY OUTFIT!

Well, friends, next time you flip through the papers, who knows, you may just see a flash of red in one of the pictures. Splashed across the front page, maybe? Haha. You never know. Oh, how proudly you'd declare that you've stumbled upon a real life superhero's blog before. I can see it already. You'd do it with a beaming smile running right smack across your face.

*grin*

Now, go away.

I've got some flying-with-one-hand-up to practice
while I wait for Superman to come back for me.
