1, 2, 3,... JZ's Diaper-Free!

Last night was JZ's first night sleeping without a diaper. And... he didn't wet the bed! Woohoo! My firstborn #bigboyalready! πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ #proudmom #growingupmilestone

But truth be told, he's been waking up with dry diapers for awhile now la. And he's been going to the toilet to wee by himself in the middle of the night every now and then before this anyway. #goodboy

Just that Mommy no guts to go diaper-free nia cos the thought of cleaning up wee at 3am is just not that motivating lah. Hahaha. So... Mommy deserves a pat on the back also for gathering her guts! Woohoo! πŸ’πŸ»πŸ™†πŸ»πŸ™‹πŸ» #tumpangglamour πŸ˜‚

And and and... Papa deserves a super loud 'woohoo' cos no need to spend money on diaper anymore! So... big WOOHOO for him!!! LOL. πŸ’°πŸ’°πŸ’°

Now, here's hoping these three woohoos don't turn
into Mommy boohoos anytime soon. πŸ˜…πŸ˜…πŸ˜…

Level Of Goodness

When JZ was about 2yo, he started singing a song, "JZ is a good boy, JZ is a strong boy, JZ is a good, good boy." The words, of course, were replaceable and interchangeable as long as the tune remained in tact. Whenever he was naughty or cheeky, he would sing, "JZ is a naughty boy, JZ is a poo-poo boy, JZ is a smelly boy, etc etc..." and the list goes on.

We've started singing that with JJ as well so he's well familiar with the song and how it goes. I usually leave the first line hanging so they fill in the blanks themselves based on their behaviour and... well, today, this happened:

Pam Song: *in sing-song voice* JJ is a...?

JJ: *whispers back* Good boy.

Pam Song: How good? Very good or just a little bit good?

JJ: Just a little bit good.

Pam Song: Hahaha. Very honest. So who is very good?

JJ: *without skipping a beat* NOT KOKO!!! HAHAHAHA. *hysterical laughter*

LOL! This boy cracks me up!

If he's this witty and funny at 2y10m, I can't imagine what a joker and a trickster he'll be when he's in his teens. Koko had better watch out! πŸ˜‚

Nen nennnn...

JJ wakes me up this morning by doing
the unthinkable – dream suckling!!! LOL!

🍼🍼🍼

The mouth and tongue was going chut-chut-chut, man. With sound effect summore. Haha. I tried to video it but it was too dark in the bedroom and he was lying on my chest at a weird angle so all attempts at recording the moment failed. Haih. Anyway, he hasn't done that in the longest time la. Not since he self-weaned-as-psychoed-to at 2y3m5d last Christmas! Guess the baby in him didn't as fully bid bye-bye to the nen-nen like we thought it did. Once a nen-nen addict, always a nen-nen addict, eh? 😝

Because They're Worth It

"Mommy? You're the best mommy in the world."

– JZ, 14 July 2017

-------

JZ said that to me tonight with his right arm around my belly, his face in my face, and his left hand on my cheek. Out of the blue and for no reason at all as I was putting him to bed. :') It's moments like this that make the madness of mothering two boys 21+ months apart, all worth it.

-------

My dearest firstborn, JZ...

I love how you always love so unabashedly.
If the world was filled with more people like you,
it would be a wonderful place to be in.

Love always,
Mommy

Look Outside

The kids were tired and borderline fussy on the way home from their 6-hours without us. JZ kept asking to play with our phones while JJ was whining over goodness knows what. So, in an effort to keep some measure of sanity within our car, I put the distraction method into play.

Pam Song: Look outside! What do you see??

JJ: *looks out and pulls a sien face* Nothing.

Pam Song: Nothing? Look again! Don't you see anything? What about the trees? And the sky... And the stars... What about all that?? Nothing!?

JJ: *repeats* Nothing. *sighs* The dinosaurs are sleeping.

LOL!!! Uh... okay.

Our 6th Anniversary Date

The beauty about being in Penang is that we have family here. There are my in-laws, my parents, and my older BIL's family. That's a fair number of people we can offload our kids off to. 😈

Well, it's our 6th anniversary today so...
TAKE FULL ADVANTAGE OF THAT!!!

We left the kids to nap with Mama in the afternoon, then let her bring them off for play and dinner with their cousins later. That way, The Husband and I managed to sneak in an anniversary Movie + Dinner date without the kids missing us too much. 😎 #responsiblyirresponsibleparents

We were at Gurney Paragon for the movie (we usually movie at TGV – if ever we do πŸ˜… – cos we get free tickets there) so The Husband decided to splurge on some Godiva ice cream for us to share. Never try before and special occasion ma. #suaku

Well, we both decided that this will be the first and last Godiva ice cream we'll ever have pay for. Subpar, underwhelming and overpriced. Pfft! Or maybe we have cheap taste and are cheapskate. LOLOLOL! πŸ˜‚

We then drove out for an early dinner at
What The Duck CafΓ© & Restaurant, Nagore Road.

Lots of greens cos The Husband very healthy healthy now and also cos it was in their set menu. We both ordered different salads so we can be efficient and try all during one visit but I can't tell you what salads they were cos I'm not cut out to be a food blogger like that. Haha.

Me and my dunno-called-what salad.

The Husband and his also-dunno-called-what salad.

Soup.

While waiting for our main course.

We had to wait quite a bit for our main course of Duck Confit to arrive. (Hence the depletion of my drink.) But boy, was it worth the wait. Look at this gold-kissed, crispy-skinned beauty! 😍

No regrets la. Soooo good. The meat fell of the bones and the taste was just exquisite. Tasty and not at all ducky-smelling. 😷 You know la. Duck is like pork. It comes with a stink sometimes. Anyway, I'm not a super big fan of duck la, and I don't eat it very often but... how to go to What The Duck and don't order duck, right?? I finished this one off real good.

Dessert.

After that, we went home and life went back to normal. The kids were awake, there was lots of noise, some laughter, some threatening and some tears. Then came the quiet and now, I'm here writing this post so I don't forget that in spite of us having kids and wanting to be good, dedicated, doting parents, we need to just stop and focus on US sometimes, too.

Happy Anniversary, Honey. πŸ’

Where Do You Put The -ING?

During a rare enforced afternoon nap in Penang before an evening of fun in the pool with the kids' cousins, I just couldn't get JJ to lie down and knock off. JZ wasn't sleepy either but at least he was keeping mum about it and wasn't rolling around the bed like JJ was. So I pulled out my super stern Mommy Voice + Death Stare combo and barked...

Pam Song: YOU BETTER LIE DOWN AND SLEEP BEFORE I CALL AH PEK AND CANCEL YOUR SWIMMING WITH KOR KOR AND JIE JIE.

JJ: *grumble grumble then mutters under his breath* I'm lie dow-ing.

😳😳😳

Lying down la. Lie dow-ing.

πŸ˜…πŸ˜‚πŸ˜…πŸ˜‚πŸ˜…πŸ˜‚

This budak ah. LOL. England not powderful enough when it comes to -ing placements yet. Gotta work on that more with him someday. LOL.
