Been A Long Time, Mr Dentist

Was having trouble with one of my molars for awhile now but didn't manage to secure an appointment with the only dental office I trust with my teeth for the longest time. (Fully booked on weekends till September! @_@) So... I put it off. For months! Like, 3 months. Maybe 4. Or more. :-/

But last week, I decided, "CAN. NOT. WAIT. LIAO." The hole – yes, there was a HOLE – in my tooth was getting bigger and bigger and it was starting to become a food trap. I couldn't even chew with the right side of my mouth because food would get lodged in the gaping hole and it would hurt badly! T_T

When I found out I'd be coming back to Penang this weekend for a wedding, I decided to call and get myself a walk-in ticket for Friday instead. By some miracle, the nursed said, "Ok, can. Come in by 9:30AM ok? We'll try to fit you in between appointments, ok? But cannot choose dentist ok?" So... OK LAH! ONZ!

Well, that Friday is today,
and my appointment was this morning.

 Torture tools.

I usually LOVE going to the dentist. (True story.)
I know it sounds crazy but The Husband knows this about me.

But what he didn't know was...
this time, I was scared out of my mind.

What's different, you ask?

Well, you see, I'm usually the kind of mental dental patient that goes in and goes, "Ahhh...," without a problem. BUT... if a problem does arise and some drilling work needs to be done, I'll just tell the dentist, "Eh, just cucuk one big needle into my mouth and make sure I don't feel a thing, ok? Thank you." So now you know! That's my secret. Hahaha. No pain, no fear ma, right? Haha.

But this time around, I knew I would need to have some work done on that troublesome molar. So drilling is pretty much a guarantee. But, I also decided before going that I didn't want the numbing jab if I didn't absolutely have to take it. So that means... PAIN IS A BIG POSSIBILITY. Which then means, LOTS OF FEAR.

*gulp*

Which was when I Facebooked this picture:

O-B-V-I-O-U-S-L-Y
some people just chose to think
what they wanted to think. Haha.

But thankfully, the dentist was gentle, quick and kind. Turns out I had two fallen fillings for him to work on – one super minor, and the other I knew of that was pretty major. But in spite of that, it was all over in a jiffy! I was only in his chair for a half hour. And, I only felt sensitivity ONCE without any injections whatsoever. (Considering the MASSIVE HOLE, that's a miracle in itself.)

Bottom line? Penang Dental Surgery FTW!!!
This is why I only trust my teeth with them. =)

KL Could Do With Some Rain Right Now

Why? Cos the haze is really baaaad where I am. Visibility is terrible (even the carpark looks hazy!!) and I feel suffocated each time I'm outdoors. Heck, I'm even sneezing while I'm indoors with all the doors and windows shut. It's crazy! -_-'''

So, I've decided that I'm gonna keep myself locked up at home as best as I can for as long as I can till the wind blows the haze away. Or the rain comes to give me clear skies and clean air once again. Whichever comes first. For your health and well-being, I suggest you guys do the same. Kiasi a bit ok???

Memories Of That One-Time Pre-Wedding Hair Freak-Out

Excuse the superior randomness (with regards to both, topic and time) of this post but... I was clearing out my comp and backing up my stuff when I stumbled upon these pictures, taken almost a year ago at the KRPG porch, on Wednesday, the 29th of June 2011.

Wondering what I was doing?? Hahaha. Well, I was having a major pre-wedding freak-out. (Bridezilla moment?) Somehow, I just had it in my mind that my recently dyed hair was waaaay too firey-brown for the wedding. I wanted chocolate. I told the hairstylist chocolate. He said this was chocolate. But in the sun – as you can see from that first pic – IT! SO! WAS! NOT! So I gave in to my psychotic emotions and had a mini meltdown. Hahahaha.

I made Mee take pictures of my hair in the sun for me to verify the colour and decide if I should get it re-done ASAP. Truth be told, I probably wouldn't have been such a pain about it if I wasn't to take any outdoor pics in the sun cos the colour actually looks ok indoors. But since we were to have a garden wedding at Rasa Sayang Resort & Spa, and our pre-wedding shots were to be outdoors at Lone Pine Hotel, I figured... things could go REALLY wrong.

You see, I didn't want to be one of those brides who walked down the aisle with jeng jeng hair during her wedding cos she thought it was "in" at the time. I wanted something natural. Hair that actually looked like it was mine. (Later my grandkids cannot recognise me then how??) In fact, the only reason I resorted to dyeing my hair was cos it was half dyed to begin with. -_-''' (I know, that's like telling a new lie to cover an old lie. Sorta.)

So... yeah. I definitely knew what I didn't want my hair to look like. And it totally looked like I had it sitting right smack on my head anyways. T_T That is, of course, until I made Nana – the woman with the brightest hair in the office – squat down next to me with her own firey hair for a comparison pic.

Me on the left, Nana on the right.

I felt better after this and didn't
end up going for a re-dye. =p

HAHA.

Anyway, this hair-dye drama now
feels like a whole lifetime ago today.

11 months and 6 days – that's how long The Husband and I have been married. (11 months and 12 days if you take into account the legal paperwork, which we don't.) Time flies. Now, we're just 24 days to our first anniversary! Whoa! And boy, have we come a long way since the wedding. We're going through new experiences daily, living out new chapters of our lives together, in a city different from the one we took our vows in.

So, jeng jeng hair?

Only a distant memory
of good times past now. =p

Ice Cream Time-Out

Lunch on me, dessert on you. At the end of the day, everybody tua hong. That's what a good friendship calls for; that's what a good friendship is made of. A relationship where everybody gives... and nobody counts. Or so it was decidedly discussed yesterday. HAHA. =)

Chatty Lass and I with our Baskin Robbins
ice cream at Sunway Pyramid yesterday.

But goodness. No Regular tubs, no water cups... tsk tsk. Baskin Robbins Sunway Pyramid, you are slacking your ass off big time. Thankfully we are girls who don't mind making do. So we made did (??) and indulged anyways. =p YUMS!
