Me Time

Managed an early night home today. Heaven. Took some time to enjoy an hour-long hot shower. More heaven. Listened to the muffled, husky, raspy, sexy voice of Edwin McCain coming from my room speakers, while warm water ran over my skin and the bathroom steamed up. *contented sigh* Even more heaven.

Came out to my candlelit room and just stood there, enjoying how much better Edwin McCain sounded then as opposed to when there was a bathroom door situated between his voice and myself. Ahhh. That rascal of an Edwin McCain. His manly man voice just makes me want to get swooned over and over like a girly girl. If a man were to sing me 'I'll Be' right now, I'd so marry him in all the time it takes for me to say, "I do." And that'd be in about 1.273 seconds.

Sigh. I like the way my darkened room glows from a corner. Thanks to the flickering flames lavender scented tealights I bought from IKEA many moons back. It's been awhile since I've used them. It's been awhile since I've done anything like this. It's been awhile since I've had some Me Time.

Sigh.

I should really do this more often.
Have me more steam, more Edwin McCain,
and more scented tealights in the dark.

Oh well. Time's up. Back to work.

– You weren't stupid, Sheon. You were trying to be romantic. I'd credit you for that. I like being sung to.

yeah..i was silly romantic. i booked a suite in times square and threw her a surprise birthday party with rose petals all over and long lost frens after messing around with her emotion for a whole day. i lit candles all over my backyard (and scaring the dogs) to cheer her up. hahaha... my romantic juice was flowing in overdrive when i was young and happy and optimistic.

lucky i love my job. i have to. and when home is 500km away.

– Awww. That sounds wonderful, Sheon. Really. She was fortunate to have experienced all that.

My bf's not that much into romance. We ate his parents' leftover mee for dinner last Valentine's Day. See? You did well. Too bad she didn't appreciate it enough to hang around to see what else you could come up with. (IF she was the one who decided to walk away lah.)

And yes. As long as work's fulfilling, few other things matter. =p But balance and priority is important once all the other things come into play lah.

see? you guys had leftovers for valentines, and both of you are still happily together.

i dont know what my point is, really. i just feel sad...depressed whenever i think about how tragic it was for me.

well, its late now..better leave office and go back to sleep. hahha.. zombie.

– Well, my point is not that we're together and you're not with your ex. But more towards how most girls crave the romantic guy... but few of us actually get them. We settle for PRACTICAL guys who don't see a point in jumping on the bandwagon of expensive dining and million-dollar bouquets on V-Day. But deep inside, we still wish that there was a little iddy-biddy romantic blood running through their veins.

Don't feel sad, okay, Sheon? You're one in a million and any girl would have been silly to have let you go.

Someone who loves you asked me to tell you not to light candles in non-ventilated spaces such as an air-con room.

Burning uses oxygen. If not enough oxygen how?

– Zen more important.

Melsong said...

No. YOU are more important.

Pam Song said...

ATTN: Melsong
– My point exactly. When I'm Zen, then everything else doesn't matter already lor!

Melsong said...

Don't Zen at the expense of your life ma!

Try non-burning stuff that smell as good instead of candles.
