From Where You Are

Artist: Jason Wade (of Lifehouse)
Song Title: From Where You Are

So far away from where you are
These miles have torn us worlds apart
And I miss you, yeah, I miss you

So far away from where you are
Standing underneath the stars
And I wish you were here

I miss the years that were erased
I miss the way the sunshine would light up your face
I miss all the little things
I never thought that they'd mean everything to me
Yeah, I miss you and I wish you were here

I feel the beating of your heart
I see the shadows of your face
Just know that wherever you are
Yeah, I miss you and I wish you were here

I miss the years that were erased
I miss the way the sunshine would light up your face
I miss all the little things
I never thought that they'd mean everything to me
Yeah, I miss you and I wish you were here

So far away from where you are
These miles have torn us worlds apart

I have the Invoker of Happy God to thank for this song.

Thanks.

For bringing out the emo-ness in me.

=p

It's been more than half a day since so I'm just gonna go ahead and classify myself as 'officially addicted' to this song. Not only because it's my kind of music (yes, I admit that I have very predictable musical preferences when it comes to taste in songs) but also because it speaks my heart's cry in beautiful melody. Somehow, the lyrics are just so... real. You know? It's sincere. And honest. And I like that.

It's been awhile since we've stood under open skies together. Not since last September to be exact. And it's been awhile since we've taken time out to do nothing but look at the stars together. And talk about everything... and nothing at the same time. Like we used to do way back when. Having said that, it's just been awhile since we've spent time together. Cos it's been awhile since we've been in the same place together.

And I miss you. Yeah, I miss you.
And I wish you were here.

My favourite's still "Fly Me to the Moon". My sis even gave me a music box that plays the song as a souvenir from Hong Kong.

– If the person really loves you, they'll do all they can to rebuild that trust again.

Even if it wasn't them who broke it in the first place.

– I think this whole long distance thingy isn't made for everybody. Not everyone's cut out for it. But... sometimes it doesn't start this way ma. Like... what if you're both at the same place, you date for a couple of years, you see a future together, then... he gets shipped off somewhere for work. Then how? You're already in love and he's the perfect guy for you already. Breaking up over a little distance seems ridiculous, right?

But it's tough lah. Not easy at all.

And ya lah. Every time listen to this song feel like heart very heavy liddat. Haha.

cant hold my silence in this! the dreaded long distance relationship...
it really brings out the best in a relationship....or it brings out the worst. mine went to the worst of coz.

we were happily together-gether for 2+ years...it was so surreal, so blissful. so lovey-dovey. i was so sure she's the one.

2weeks after she left for UK to study, she drops the bombshell and tells me she was with me becoz i was to nice to her, but she cant see a future with me, and her mom wants her to marry to a rich-ass family. that was like the biggest ever WTF moment in my life. great, all the years of effort and commitment, only to end up here.....and she went to rub it in by hooking up with her playboy junior 2 weeks after she dumped me, and brags about it. the second biggest WTF moment in my life.

from that moment henceforth, i lost my faith in relationships dee. yeah, i know, its just ONE relationship then went awry. but, that one relationship meant for everything i stood up for.

geez....like hogging your comment box lidat. excuse me. hehehehe

Sheon: Peoples said " nan-ren pu huai, ni ren pu ai" (mandarin)...Dunno why? But that is the fact...Chewah! My mandarin not bad huh! P

Good men like you always meet up with bad girls...I have seen many! And Gosh! Im a bit afraid with these freaks...plenty of them out there.

You should be glad that she left you, cos its better to break now than to divorce later. Honestly, if I am to meet with this type of lady, I will be glad to kiss her goodbye and NEVER turn back...

Okay....Malay says "kumbang bukan nia seekor, bunga bukan nia sekuntum"... Plenty of other girls that deserve your heart. Go hunt for her! =)

sheon said...

adrian: your reply very soothing. hi-5!

yes, i agree with you. the early stages i was in so much agony. only my frens and family brought me back to my feet. now, thinking back...i tell myself "good riddance"....
you know how the song goes..the first cut is the deepest.....

Sheon: Hahaha...hi5! *loud Piak* Dun worry la....men at our age have the look and credibility mah...So can be choosy a bit! Haha =P Marrying late is better than marrying the wrong person....Rock ON! =)

ATTN: pikey
– Yeah, you said it. Simple and meaningful.

And yes. Long distance relationships can be tough. And it's painful at times. Cos you'll never have the one you love when you want them around. No hugs when you're down, no pats on the back when you've done something right, no kisses to show you you're loved. It's tough lah.

Plus there's that whole trust issue to deal with when the person's not by your side and is surrounded by hundreds of other ppl.

Never knew so many ppl tried LDR before. Nice to know that I'm not the only one out there who's crazy enough to go for this. Haha.

...although I've been through shit in the past and been hurt in LDR.

We get over it. Yah? When the time is right and when all's well again. We get over it. Eventually.

ATTN: adrian
– Ya la. I use skype. But sometimes connection not that great.

ATTN: sheon
– HAHAHAHA. That comment was a post in itself, Sheon!!!

You're right when you said, "it really brings out the best in a relationship....or it brings out the worst.

But then again, 2 weeks is very fast lor. You have my sympathies. But... 2 weeks isn't too long for a relationship to crash. You won't believe how quickly things can go downhill when times are bad. Sad but true.

Don't let that one experience keep you from experiencing love again. And it's not just about getting love. Giving love can feel pretty good, too.

Cheers.

ATTN: adrian
– That saying is terrible! Teaching ppl to be bad. Ish. Shame on you, Adrian! And then summore got Malay saying. Apa ni deh?? Got Indian saying or not? Haha.

But it's true that breaking up now is better than after you're married.

Haha. Rock on.

I'm a girl who likes to be romanced lah! Memang liddat ma. And no lah. These are just the basics of treating a girl you love rightly. It's not the full bible of things. If you want a girl, you've got to be willing to put in the EFFORT!

ATTN: sheon
– Awww, it's okay. As long as work rocks, we're all still fulfilled in some ways. And 3 years ain't that long. You made me think it was like 8 or 9 years ago. HAHA.
