Haha....but there are some jobs that are not meant for women....errr...like wrestling?!haha =P

Women should rise up cos they do contribute to the country's economy.....and hey! Men should not feel threaten la...cos we are borned to be NATURAL BREAD-WINNERS!

– Cheh! There are women wrestling teams around, okayyy. And anyways, that's not what The Economist is about. It's about high-powered, big office jobs.

And no, I'm not saying it to threaten men. It's about telling men that women have a right to exert their brain power, too. Don't limit us. Don't close us in and destroy our dream to achieve bigger things.

Go ahead. Be the bread-winners. We WANT you to be bread-winners. But we also want to be able to pursue our dreams, money or no money. Adrian, you lost the message behind this woman's rights thing. It's about equal opportunity to pursue dreams. Not about earning more than our husbands.

Cheh. I also can pep talk wat!

I used to produce a women's talk show and I met a lot of strong determined women. I find women have more to proof in the business world. Women who have a family have more things to juggle, with family management and career.

The quota for women in decision making roles in Malaysia hasn't been met yet. I think it's 30%.

Overall, Malaysian career women are doing good. Their salary has risen but there is still disparity between the genders (men still make more).

When I visited a few factories I asked the manager how come all the assembly line workers are women. The manager said women are more patient and meticulous, hence higher quality control. The men were found mostly in the heavy machinery lifting area where strength was needed.

– Haha. Thank you, thank you.

In some ways, because of the nature of freedom of speech in the US, their policies are a little more obliging. Underdog parties and smaller sub groups still get heard and treated fairly. At least they try to lah.

And true, I agree that sometimes, it's the women who limit themselves. But to that, I blame the environment they grow up in. The culture that they were raised to adopt and subsequently taught to adept to.

Fairness. That's all we ask.

– Ooo. How interesting! A women's talk show. Which one was that?

And I also feel that women have a tougher time juggling the different areas of their lives. I've spoken about this before. I can't remember if it's in comments or in a post but my point was that women have to switch roles between strong, independent career woman to meek, obedient wife. It's not easy. One part of the society requires that they be tough and impartial. Another demands all things nice and sweet. It's not easy.

30% of women in decision making is low. But... we'll get there someday if we work for it. Nothing comes free these days.

But I do believe that we're already getting somewhere with all of this. At least we have an equal chance at applying for jobs. Getting the job is entirely dependent on the employer and their personal preferences. Sucks that men still make more, though. And I KNOW it's true.

You know, I think I'd have organized the factory you spoke about in the same way that manager organized it. With the women looking after the details and the men doing hard labour. We should all use our strengths to our advantage and let others strengths shine in areas that others can, right? Then we'll all be in win-win situations all the time. =)

This song is the rallying cry of the women's liberation movement in the 70's.

i agree with Adrian Lim. Most of the times Women themselves are putting a cap on their achievements. Its a free market...free world, anybody can be anybody. when will this corporate world stop differentiating between the gender line, and start rewarding based on merits and capability? women have been elected into the highest offices in a country. women have proven themselves to be high flying corporate leaders.....the list goes on. so, i dont see a need to debate on this issue anymore. instead i urge all women who dare to dream to challenge themselves to become who they want to become, and not just creating feminist group after feminist group to challenge the system.

:) now you go and show the world PAMSONG ROCKS!!!
