French Is Such A Deceiving Language

The French language is such a pretty language, don't cha think? It's the kind of language that gets you out of trouble with the opposite sex. Haha. It's the kind of language that gets you off the hook when it comes to a lot of stuff you do that's frown-worthy. It's doesn't matter what you say, it doesn't matter how you say it, and it doesn't matter even if you don't make any sense at all. You'll still wriggle your way outta anything even with a simple, no-brainer, "Bonjour, Mademoiselle."

How so? Well, simply because what you say automatically sounds good in French. But know this – stuff that sounds nice in French... isn't necessarily all that nice in real life. Take the words pâté de foie gras, for instance. It sounds nothing like it looks.

Sound nice? Look okay? Well, it's all a lie. It's NOT! That's a plate of duck (or goose) liver that's been unnaturally fattened through cruel force-feeding practices, before the duck (or goose) heads for the slaughter house. (Them high-cultured, bombastic-English people call this practice 'gavage'.)

Fattened duck (or goose) liver!?
Yuck. I'm totally grossed out.
Who eats this kinda stuff?!?

oui, cest vrai. that is totally true. cruelty to the max ! i can't understand how they can find fois gras and baby calf ala veal... omg omg. sometimes I can't understand how can they eat food that has been tortured to death?

let's add to that, my neighbour, who happens to love french cuisine, is totally convinced that IF the goose/duck/calf was totally tortured, they would have rejected the food and died. But they didn't !

somehow being forced but yet being "able" to make it to the slaughter house means otherwise.

Now coming back to the beauty of the language, so you like to be called mademoiselle?

– I watched the PETA video today. It's totally heartbreaking. If you haven't yet seen it, you should pop by their page for a look. The video loads like a tortoise but it's worth the wait.

According to research, they say that force-feeding doesn't make the animal feel uncomfortable. I say, "LIKE HELL YOU KNOW!! You an animal ah?!" I don't get such people. They deserved to be bashed over the head and skinned alive.

And no, I don't particularly like being called anything but 'Pam'. It's an affinity thing.

Hey that pic's from wikipedia! Haha... some of the information (I don't mean this foie gras info, but then again, I'm not sure if all the info about it in wikipedia is true either 'cos I didn't read the whole page...busy ;)) in wikipedia is not true you know. I heard there are people who purposely go into wikipedia to change the information, for whatever reason.

The Psychology department at my uni doesn't accept wikipedia as a source of reference because it's not credible. I think my Mass Comm course doesn't either.

Hmm just wanted to share that with you ;). Your pic from wikipedia reminded me of this info =). Hehe but after all that, I still wiki things I don't know about; I hope most of the info they have is reliable =O.

– Haha. Yeah, it is. =p And yea, I know that the info there is inaccurate at times but I'm willing to take my chances. Haha. It's not an assignment and I'm not graded for it. So if I write anything that's later proven wrong, I just add a footnote saying it's wrong info lor. Haha. No biggie. =p

p/s: My college also didn't allow Wiki sources in the bibliography/references.
