My Hand! My Hand!

I don't know what I've caught or contracted.

All I know is that it's bad. Like, really bad.

It's almost like it's erupting all over my hand and I'm just powerless to stop it. And it keeps GROWING and GROWING!!! When I first saw it, it looked somewhat like this: -

0300 hours, 6 January 2008.

Woke up and almost got a heart attack.

0900 hours, 6 January 2008.

It grew!!! Overnight!

And then it continued getting BIGGER
and BIGGER and BIGGER throughout the day!

1200 hours, 6 January 2008.

Went to see the doc and had time for a pic
while waiting for my turn. Check out the size, wei.

1400 hours, 6 January 2008.

Now both hands also different size di.

1500 hours, 6 January 2008.

1600 hours, 6 January 2008.

AT TIME OF POSTING, 6 January 2008.

It's itchy as hell. It burns like I'm really in hell. And in over just 17 hours, the spots seem to have successfully united themselves into one big-ass continent ON MY ARM. With the swelling, it now looks like I've got an uber-distorted left arm.

Sigh.

Stay away from me.
I'd stay away from me, too. =(

So what did the doctor say about your hand??

Pam Song said...

Well, the one I saw yesterday told me that it was an allergic reaction to something I must have touched or eaten. Today's doc said otherwise. Hmmm. I'm confused.

Nice comp. =p

lol. thanks. :) hope u get better soon. i used to be allergic to stuff too and my arm or whichever part was affected would swell up just like yours. & with the itching too!

I hope I'll get better real quick, too. Haha. I can't take the itch no more. Just feel like ripping my arm off. ARGH!

And today's doc said it was bug bites. Hmmm.

haha. Din he give you hydrocord? i dunno if that's the spelling but that's the way it's pronounced. It relieves itching. I use it now and then. :) works well for allergies/bug bites.

Pam Song said...

– I dunno how much it costs actually. Haha. My company doctor doesn't send the bill to us wan. It goes straight to the company. Haha. Wheee!

I salute you for going through eczema, man. Even this is a lot to take for me. I dunno how you do it. Respect.

ATTN: Kirsten
– Terrible hor. My cousin also used to have it. Very bad. Scratch till his fingers bled wan.

Li said...

Haha. Company pays. :)

To tell the truth, it was terrible when I was younger. I would scratch in my sleep & yeah it could turn bloody. So havta bandage my hand up to stop myself from scratching. Thank god I don't have that anymore tho I have the scars to prove it once existed. Hate scars. LOL.

– Yes, the joys of working in a good company. Medical care and claims.

That's exactly how it was for my cousin, too! He had bloody hands. Especially around his joints. It was terrible. His mom also bandaged his hand to keep him from scratching. It got better as he grew up.

ATTN: Kirsten
– You had!? Hydrocortisone also has steroids wat. Actually very bad lah. But at least it helps for now. =(

Kirsten said...

ah, m glad to kno that its getting better.. :)

Pam Song said...

Ya lor. I'm glad too. Today less scratching di. My hand looks horrible, though. =( I hope it doesn't scar.

Li said...

Yeah. Hydrocortisone also has steroids. Minimal but still got. But people with eczema have no choice. I used to use an even stronger one when I was younger cause the itch was really bad. Couldn't control myself. Lol.

Most people with eczema seem to get better as they grow up. :) but I got a friend, she still itches like crazy.

When I was younger & in primary school, classmates couldn't understand what I had. They even thought it was contagious. =.=

ATTN: Li
– Yeah, my cousin who used to have very bad eczema when he was younger also faced pretty much the same torment as you did. His friends weren't too nice. The kids thought he had some kind of skin disease which would spread like leprosy. His gets exceptionally bad especially when he has seafood, egg or goes near dogs and cats. It was BAD.

Good to know yours is better now, though. =)

Li said...

Haha. I wasn't really allergic to food stuff. More environmental. Stuff I touched, weather, etc.

Some children can be mean when they are young. Tsk. Teachers back then weren't that great either. Felt that they encouraged the students to think eczema is contagious when they know nothing about it.

:) Glad I got better too.

Your hand okay yet?

Pam Song said...

I posted a post on how my hand looks tonight compared to this morning. It's much better. Thanks!

And you said it. I blame the lack of knowledge. It makes me people fear what they don't know. I've had my share of lousy teachers and I know just how influential they can be to SOME students, too.

You're very positive. I like that. =)
