Most people outside my industry can't really tell the difference between Advertising and its siblings – Marketing, Public Relations and Branding. What I have here is a really simple example of how they all "sell" 1 person (i.e. a brand) in 4 slightly differing ways.

I have passion for psychology, but i will need a masters in order to get a job, but can't afford masters, so i think i go into public relations lorh~ it was one of my 2nd choice... but i doubt if i can do well though
Since you didn't include the other branch of mass comm, I's journalism. They sit on the other side of the fence and go
"is he a good lover?"
"why is he a good lover?"
Investigative journalism would be:
"according to sources, he was a bad lover"
Broadcast journalism would be:
"so is he a good lover? We'll find out. I'm X reporting for valentine TV"
Yellow journalism/ trash journalism would be:
"now according to his barber, he actually likes men!"
"i have substantial proof that the defendant is a great lover. please watch the cctv surveillance footage marked as evidence item 3a, your honour."
