Entertaining The Thought

Lasik. Yes? No? Maybe? Dunno. Hmmm. Tough decision, this one. Sket but itchy. How? Also dunno. Expensive but worth it. Issit? Maybe.

Friends say, "DO! Sure no regret wan! I never regret also. In fact, it was the best decision I ever made." Wallet say, "Fergeddit lah. Just save the money for a rainy day or go on a long holiday far, far away." Heart say, "Shopping better! What you thinking wei!?" Brain say, "YOU SIAO AH??? You want people to use metal claws and open your eye then shoot your eyeball with laser??? GILA!"

I think Brain's winning.

I was just talking to my mum abt this last night!

Apparently, its expensive and it will last for abt 2-3 years only. Also, (not to scare you lah k) according to this Dr friend of mine..he says that if they do not perform the surgery properly, there's a high chance that your cornea to detach itself! o.O

Being selfish, i don't think you should do it. Why? because you look great with your glasses!! But if you think you want to do away with cumbersome of wearing one, then by all means. It is safe (relatively, good doctor will tell you there is always risk in surgery abide minor one in this case) One pointer though, choose a good doctor (not your typical optical shop one) that have good track record. Expensive, yes but what's more important than one's life.
Whatever your decision, take good care.
Cheers!

Dispelling the myths:

1. It does not hurt - yes, it's a little freaky, but there is absolutely no pain during the procedure. Post-op, your eyes will ache, but it's nothing that can't be cured by a single day's bedrest.

2. It will last for as long as you continue to maintain good eye care/reading habits - you've essentially reset the clock back to zero, so if you go back doing the things that ruined your eyesight in the first place, then of course your vision will deteriorate.

3. Glasses can always be worn for aesthetic purposes, without corrective lenses (I do concur with the general consensus: You *are* damn cute with'em)

4. Expensive: You could always think of it as an investment.

– Haha. No, it actually doesn't hurt. My friends who did it said that it was over before they knew it. =p The clamps just get uncomfortable for awhile. That's all.

ATTN: shengmae
– It's like ber-thousand thousand lor. And the results last as long as your eye muscles remain strong. There isn't a deadline to it. ChickLit is right. It just resets your eyesight. Haha. You really wanna do ah? Gatal right? I also gatal. But sket. Haha.

ATTN: hon
– Haha. You like me glasses? Awww. But it looks better than not wearing glasses??

ATTN: Leonard
– Haha. This is so funny. I never thought people would think that I look good in glasses. Haha. Thanks for the compliment though. =p

But yeah. Life could be easier if I had better eyesight. Sigh.

ATTN: ChickLit
– Yes, doctor. =p

It's not an option for me. I'll have to have LASIK sooner or later because without my glasses, I'm as blind as a bat. :P I figured if I waited till I graduated, I might be able to get a discount for being a medical worker. Hmm... *thinks*

If you do decide to go for it, good luck! :P
