Non-professional Professional Bloggers

Now, here's some blogger trivia
to spice up your morning...

I just recently discovered that in order to be a professional blogger, you don't have to be a 'Professional Blogger' per se. You just have to NOT be a professional anything-else and own a blog. Good blog, bad blog, high-traffic blog, low-traffic blog, personal blog, tech blog, gossip blog, celebrity blog – nobody cares. It's whatever blog you can think of or imagine! And if you successfully meet those two criterias (have no real job and own a blog of any kind)... tada! That officially makes you a Professional Blogger.

What is the blogging world coming to lah?!
There's some revising they need to do
in Blogger Land Dictionary.

If so, maybe I should stop doing what I do and just focus on blogging (and die of starvation in a few months cos I'm not earning mega-bucks from this stint). It'd be pretty cool to have a Professional something-something on my name card. (ALL professionals have name cards, okay. Must wan.) At least by then, nobody will ask if all I do all day is copy other people's writing. -_-

To me the defination of Professional Blogger simply working on it FULL TIME and there is nothing great about the name printed on the name card.
Trust me, at the end of the you are responsible for your living, no point tell others you are problogger but not earning enough for living, and don't bother talks about living in life style that you want.

To be successful in blogging simply require your determination and hardwork. I have a friend who has been blogging for 2 years part time and now he is enjoying his fruitful result. The best part is, today he is marrying another blogger and I am going to attend their wedding.

You can do the same, just work a little harder and stay a bit longer and you will be there like my friends.

– Firstly, it's DEFINITION... not definAtion.

And yes. A so-called professional blogger is one who blogs full time. Glad you understood that... since you seemed to have misunderstood everything else.

The name card deal... That's what the rest of us call SARCASM. That's the use of irony to mock or convey contempt, if you didn't know. And I'm guessing, from your response, you probably didn't.

And yes. I AM responsible for my own living. And this blog happens to be making enough for me to pay off a couple of things – DAILY. It may not be enough to allow me luxuries like globe-trotting and all that but hey, at least it's makin something.

And Pro-Blogger, that's a JD, for goodness sakes. It's not an income bracket. Didn't think I'd have to explain that to my readers... but I guess you never know who's reading, eh?

And to me, to be successful in ANYTHING you do, you've gotta love it, and you've gotta be good in it. Success in the form of payment isn't enough. Success in LIFE matters a great deal to me, too. But then, I guess that's not everybody's dream.

And FYI, I blog for kicks. Because I love writing. And it's kinda fun seeing the way people get twisted when they read what I get to say. *coughYOUcough*

Anyway, Mr Steven Wong, I'm being a bitch cos it's disturbing that people take what's meant to be funny so seriously. You sound like such a dull dud when you nag online. Like, kick back and have some fun, yo.

Isn't it clear that even I think that this whole Pro-Blogger JD deal is ridiculous!? How is it possible that you managed to totally miss the following two sentences?!

"What is the blogging world coming to lah?! There's some revising they need to do in Blogger Land Dictionary."

I even pulled them out and centralized them, too!

Goodness.

On a cheerier note, congrats to the happy couple. Cheers! =)

– Where can liddat? Can. That's the definition. It's a freaking JD lah. Not an income bracket. -_-

You know what? Just read what I said to Steven Wong, alright? I don't like repeating myself.

And YES. An old retired grandmother in kentucky, U.S. who has a ONE-POST blog is defined as a professional blogger.

– Finally. Someone who hasn't let what I said in the post fly past his brains. These ppl got no sense of humour wan.

And nah. I LOVE MY JOB. Haha. Wouldn't give it up for the world. Maybe next time lah. When I'm old and grey and retired. Blog while I take care of my grandchildren. HAHA. No plans as yet. I'm not ready to give up my other career dreams. My full-time job is too fulfilling. =)

Just re-read my response and... WHOA. I scared myself there. Looks like I haven't lost my bite.

And that's a bad thing.

*breathe in, breathe out*
*breathe in, breathe out*
*breathe in, breathe out*

How do u think about my blog? Is it qualify? Hehehe.....

Pam Song said...

Qualify?

Wait a sec. You mean qualify to be a Professional Blogger's blog?

!!!

Don't you guys even read what I write? Gosh!

Baby_On_Board, you should know whether you're a pro-blogger better than I would! Do you have a day-time job that pays? Are you employed somewhere? Or do you own your own company? If you qualify with a Yes for any of the above-asked questions, you're not a pro-blogger.

Get bo?

Abas KS said...

Who voted Pam as a professional blogger expert huh?

JD means like wat, Jack Daniel...

Aiyyoo..how can you consider a retired grandmother from kentucky doing one post a professional blogger...drop the subject horr..

PhhBBtt :P

Pam Song said...

Aiyo, not I consider her a professional blogger lah. Don't you see that it's the DEFINITION that says she's a professional blogger. I think it's ridiculous, too!

And JD means job description lah! HAHA. This wan sure means you're a drinker di. Tsk tsk. Only alcohol on your mind.

Abas KS said...

Me drinker...nooo..but I want to buy you a few very strong alcoholic drinks :)

I want to make you drunk as heck so you can correct your definition of a professional blogger.

;) So Pam, do you want to exchange links with one of my blogs?

I reckon my most relevant blog with your blog is my voyage echoes in the wind blog :)

http://aispecial.blogspot.com

Pam Song said...

Why you no understand that it's not MY definition wan? Aiyoyo!

And no thanks. I don't drink.

So what's the deal with this blog exchange thing? I only have one blog. Does that meant that I'll only get linked to one of your blogs? Or are you willing to make that offer more enticing for me? =p

what good is a professional blogger if you are not making money from it... a bit off right?

Pam Song said...

Haha. Yeah. Tell me about it. I can't remember where it was I read that gave this definition also. But this was what a pro-blogger was defined as. I guess there is some sense in it if you're looking at terminology. Like, I've taken my CPA or ACCA or whatever A... so that makes me a Professional EVEN IF I DON'T PRACTICE. You know? I don't have to earn big bucks, and I'm still a professional. Likewise, all them audit guys. They don't start off earning big bucks but they're "Professionals".

Dunno lah. They all say wan. I'm tired of everybody misunderstanding and thinking that this is MY definition already.

Abas KS said...

You could mention the reference where you got the definition.

On the other hand, you could just let the topic fade away into the archives, like how we are doing now :)

Pro blogger where got ACCA, certificate wan ah.

Pam Song said...

Fade away. Fade away. Fade away. I'm just gonna buat tak tau and not bother di. Haha. Huuuuusssshhhhhh!
