I've already had my morning cup of milo, a good stand-and-look-busy chat, an ice lemon tea, an intense b*tching session, and I'm done warming my seat (twice over)! This is insane. So surreal.
This is NOT a normality.

Well, I beg to differ.
A higher PR means a few hundred USD or even a few thousand USD extra per month.
However, your statement does hold some truth.
Some blogging marketplaces are phasing Google PR slowly & going to different ranking systems but PR still counts at the moment.
Whatever, no need your personal info...I'm only interested in exchanging links with your blog, period :)

Okay, I'm not saying they're totally useless but... it doesn't necessarily mean higher traffic for your blog. Some blogs have really high traffic and they rank really high on Technorati but they've got pathetic PR. I guess it depends on which means of ranking matters to your advertisers. That's all. =)
And as for the theory behind it, it only depends on how much Google bothers about your page. Ppl who write about issues that are more controversial or that involve current events tend to get noticed and watched more by them google guys. If you talk crap and you write about your children growing up, they don't really bother cos what you say doesn't really affect the rest of the world although hundreds of thousands of ppl read your posts daily.
It's unfair but... oh well. That's just the way it goes.
And no worries. Haha. I just needed time to process the information. =p

Its guess its got to do with the Google search algorithm & robots.
Incoming & outgoing link value of a blog, the sort of thing.
PR0 link is like low value.

The high PR websites or blogs must link to your blog.
Then you see your blog's PR go up.
The other way round (you link to high PR blogs), I read, used to be ok a few years ago but now, Google changed search algorithm to render them useless.
You don't see my blogs giving free links to high PR blogs or websites.
