April Fool's Day

I didn't pull a trick. I didn't mess with anybody's head. I didn't try anything funny. I played good girl and took pichas of scary skies.

I like the way the rain clouds came in like... well, like a dark cloud. (Not that I'm complaining, of course. I like it when nature takes the literal route to extremes.)

And those dark clouds, they moved real quickly, too! The wind was a total slave driver to it. You should have seen me after being out on the balcony for these pictures. I looked like Medusa's evil twin.

But it was so worth it.

Cos I captured glimpses of Armageddon in JPG.

Nice, no? I was only out on the balcony for less than 5 minutes. Just enough time for me to shoot, look like Medusa's evil twin and catch the first drops of rain. But even in that short time, the sky changed in colour and hue. No kidding. I think that's really cool. Haha. Check out the pics in succession and you'll see how the blue turns to grey. =)

p/s: I've come to realise that I'm a big fan of skies and clouds. I take pictures of them all the time. Haha.

i like to look at what goes on up there also. clouds, lightning, etc etc. two things i really enjoy doing while its pouring...1) tuck into my bed....i just feel, sooo safe in my bed while the land is under the mercy of the thunderstorm....

2) driving. sitting in my car, i feel so safe and dry, ...and the aircon gives out extra-cold breeze. then i enjoy driving .....fast in the rain. fast but safe lar..of coz.

ps: thats the second reason why i chose silverstone ns700 over michelin's pp2 the last time i replaced my tires. silverstone is the only tire that offers commendable wet grip while being affordable, coz got silica compound. however, michelin shines in dry conditions. :)

I like taking these type of pictures too. I do it while driving sometimes, dangerous but worth the pictures.

When you stand and look at the storm clouds, I feel like Mickey Mouse in Sorcerer's Apprentice.

– Chei, I also like to be in bed when the sky is such lah. (After I take pics. =p)

But... I'm not a big fan of speeding in the rain. Especially not with the car I'm driving now. Handling not so good. So... I guess that means Michelin is still da bomb for me cos I'm faced with dry-weather driving most of the time.

ATTN: luxen
– Haha. I used to do it while driving but now I don't anymore. Kena marah. Haha.

And I remember that Mickey Mouse short story! It's from FANTASIA! The resurrection of the broom used to freak me out big time when I was a child. But... I miss it lah. The orchestral music there quite power. Haha. Plus, I liked the dancing fairies. =p

If you have good speakers, turn up the bass and listen to it.

– Tried. Cannot hear lah. My office too noisy. Plus, it's raining cats and dogs outside.

the clouds are X10 speed, the water is normal speed. I change the video level of the clouds to give it stronger contrast.

If I see this in real life coming for me, I sure run fast fast and find a nuclear shelter. Everytime I see this, reminds me of Tom Cruise's War of the World.

ATTN: luxen
– Haha. I guessed as much that you sped up the video. I just didn't know you sped up the clouds and not the water. Haha. How'd you achieve that?

luxen said...

I use two identical clips that was split at the horizon. The Clouds clip on top was sped up. The clip on the bottom I didn't change.

one of your photos look like a poster pic for the movie, "the day after tomorrow"!

ATTN: luxen
– Hmmm. Interesting approach. I thought it would have been a lot more complicated than that. Haha. At least you didn't have wide-angle lens. A straight horizon makes work that much easier. =p

– Haha. Yeah, man. Scary. But nice. Haha. The breeze that day was wonderful.

Can you imagine? At that moment I was driving to work. Like "Twister" setting. Not bad.

Hey, saw your photo on STAR newspaper wearing that pink pyjamas talking to the emcee, on the pyjamas party night. wa ha ha.

I look up at the sky most of the time too, especially after sun sets... Even more so if its drizzling. Reflection from rain drops backed by lights is a pretty sight to me

– Haha. You saw it, too? Freaky, huh? But... nice, too. Haha.

And you can still recognize me??? Amazing! Haha. And from the back summore! I would have thought that that hour-long interview we had was long gone from your memory di.

*blush*

ATTN: 3POINT8
– Ooo. I like that also! But only when I'm not driving. Like say, when I'm indoors looking out or when I'm being driven around. The glare gets in the way of things sometimes. Makes it kinda dangerous.

ATTN: joshuaongys
– Haha. Thanks! Glad you like em. =)

lovely shots! you know whenever i look into the skies and i listen to one sad sappy love song..my tears just uncontrollably trickle down my cheeks v_v

random but seriously the skies over in malaysia is scary! i thought singapore's quite scary until i saw yours!

ATTN: YEONG
– Haha. Thanks! And yeah, I think dark skies and love songs go together very well.

Singapore should be raining in the evenings, too, right? Rains in KL last about 4 - 5 hours daily on average every evening. Doesn't help with the jam. -_-
