Thermal Wear Is Not Meant To Be Fashionable

Ok, so remember how I was looking forward to Friday, the 17th of August 2012: A Much-Needed Break? Well, I'm going to come outright and tell you that... I'm going for a holiday! Yay!!! It's been too long since The Husband and I have had some time off to chill and unwind. This year has just been work, work, work and more work for us. =(

So anyway, since the place we're headed to is going to be more than comfortably cool this time of year (no snow though T_T), The Husband decided to get me some thermal wear. (I don't have any thermal wear, have never had any, and have never even worn any before in my life. @_@) We visited Travel4All, Subang Parade and he picked out this wool type for me:

100% Merino Extra Fine Wool Long Sleeved Thermal Wear And Pants.

I look like a dungu in it.
Total geek outfit. Haha.

And I can't get over the fact that people wear thermal wear daily UNDER their clothes without washing them throughout the trip. @_@ Can anybody say yuck?? That's like wearing the same clothes for a whole holiday! Yerrr... Disgusting, man.

So, I've decided to break the rules and at least put on some basic spaghetti straps under this thermal wear, and I plan to change those spaghetti straps daily. :-/ At least I'll be relatively clean throughout the holiday AND I'll be protected from any itching the wool may cause when my body heats up under all the layering.

But I totally get why people only get one pair of thermal wear and wear only that one pair throughout the duration of their holidays. These unfashionable, itchy, inner wear things cost a bomb! @_@

RM159.20 each after discount, which totals up to RM318.40 for a set.

Madness.

But I guess that's the price you have to pay
to keep warm and toasty from neck to ankle. :-/

– UNIQLO ikut Northern weather la. Not Western. Now they're selling cooling wear. Haha. Salah season. Boo hoo. But that aside, yes, their thermal wear is supposedly quite nice and comfy.

– And yuck la. Can you imagine the amount of skin flakes on the inner side of your thermal wear after 1 week? *gag*

Well, a bit too late for the advice now, but I gave up on thermal wear, except for subzero temperatures. I found that layers + a good overcoat work better (and are much more comfortable). Spaghetti straps and tank tops all the way! :)

As for the lower limbs, leggings/tights work fine. ^.^

– I haven't bothered with thermal wear at all till this trip. And this time around, I didn't even take it out of my bag. We had good weather! Hahaha. Wasted money. Oh well, think we have to plan a super cold trip to someplace subzero next so I can put it to good use. =p

It's beautiful. You'll get used to the people, but you'll never get tired of the country. :)

– I'll have to take your word for it! Doubt I'll visit Russia, you know. It's not on my travel list. (Not like I'll be doing anymore traveling anytime soon. -_-')
