Just Wondering...

Based on my taste in fashion and my love for a good bargain, do you guys think I could be successful if I was to start an online boutique that sells clothes I would wear at prices I would pay for them? I'm considering doing this on the side and I think I might need some serious pushing in the right direction from people who actually live on the online world so... throw me your thoughts, ok? Thanks! =)

would suggest researching what's already out there, how much commit. this would take from yr personal bandwidth and what your long-term plans are.

don't know you well enough to say for sure, but i'd think if you really put yr mind to it, anything's possible (even for a girl who attempts to kill mozzies with a half-baked electrified racquet :)

– I think from the response so far... nobody would bother buying from me. T_T

p/s: It's not the mosquito racquet, it's the skills of the killer that count. =p

If you've done your research and decided to go ahead with it, you don't only need your readers to buy from you. They'll be others who will stumble on your site. Surely, there'll be people out there who are looking for a bargain. :)

Alright, here's my thought. I WOULD NOT BUY FROM YOU.. why? I've no need for them, BUT I would STRONGLY and HIGHLY RECOMMEND you to everyone I know who'd like to purchase or at least view your smashing taste! :) *grins*

on the side note, you can start off small, by telling others.. I'm told "Marketing can be of ZERO (0) cost in terms of money, but you'll need to balance that up with efforts".. Once you've establish a good clientele of your own, then slowly expand it. What can I do to help? Spread the good news! ;)

– You would help me promote?? Yay!!! =D

Now let's just hope this idea materialises. Gotta do some research now to see how it goes.

Why, of course I will! And I bet you, that it won't just be me alone =)

Oh oh a plus point for you, when you get it going, if I find others in the same industry, MAYBE I could score you a collaboration deal =) but that's still a thought for now, teehee!

– Hopefully lah. I not very connected to the blogging world these days. Not since the privatisation. ='(

Hahaha, you don't have to be very connected to start your business.. but you need to be very service-oriented and in good quality, because that's the thing that attracts connection =)

Success doesn't happen in a day, and for to work it up, you'll see, feel, hear and taste true success when you hit it =)

– Eh... service and quality are not the highlights of an online business la. You need TRAFFIC. No matter how good you are, if no traffic also no use. T_T

Jeffro said...

Service + Quality is what attracts Traffic (but you'll need design and marketing too) =D Well, for a starter, if you can provide service and quality, attraction isn't that difficult =)

– No, marketing is what attracts initial traffic. Service and quality is what keeps them coming back.
