Games Only The Brave Play

My experience has shown me that
it's the brave who ultimately get what they want.

 Sigh.

So I guess it's true what they say:
Those who dare, win.

But let me ask you this: How far are you supposed to go before you call it quits? How long do you hold out before you take your foot off the gas pedal? How much is required of you before you're allowed to give up and be thought no less of than when you started off?

Cos I sure as hell don't know.

And should you decide to press on with what you want, how far is too far to go? How deep is too deep to dig or dive? And how much is too much to ask for? What if what you want requires that you step over others to get it? Would you be willing? What if the destination you've got your eye on will cost you your integrity, your honour, or your virtue? Would you still head thataway?

I wouldn't.

But does that conviction make me any less brave than all the others who'd just go right ahead with what they want without any care for what other people in the picture think or feel?

Well, to think that of me, would be unfair.

But then, Life never plays fair, does she?

Here's the truth: The big screen's been lying to us since we were kids. Because you grow up and suddenly you realise that over here, the hero sometimes dies. The good guy sometimes loses. The good girl ends up alone. And good kids don't always get what they wish for on stars.

They say that "Those who dare, win." What they don't tell you is that what you've got to have, is bravery without conscience, compromise, or care for others. For Life doesn't always reward the daring with a righteous clause.

It's a gamble. What's matter is up to the fellow who places the bet.

hahaha, and i was thinking what sorta game would be tough for you... Game of Life eh? There's no true hero (well not anymore), but that doesn't mean we can't believe in them... for example, some people will only turn "hero" when needed... some are considered "hero" no matter what they do.

Key point, you gotta have faith (and confidence)... It's not what people say, it's what you believe that makes the changes in the game... Having faith, putting trust or believing in someone (or yourself) is source of bravery =)

– Well... nobody's betting this time. It's more like, do also wrong, don't do also wrong. But if you do, you get what you want. Don't do, you live with the consequences. -_-

- Yep. Game of Life, as Life would have it. Sigh. Never easy, eh?

Thing is, I think being brave at the cost of nobility is still a loss to me.

Life's a game of abstract rules, in which at times the rules seemed like paradox...

Well, don't think of it as a loss, think of it as a necessity to rid of nobility (which people usually misuse) as a hindrance to equality, and bringing you one step closer to bravery =D How about that?

oops... typo there, i meant... "nobility that acts as a hindrance to equality"

– Whoa. You lost me at nobility at first. Hahaha. Thank goodness you corrected yourself. =p

And ridding myself of nobility is good cos... it's for the greater good? So now it's a lesser of two evils thing??

– You know, I think bravery is doing what's right even if it means you don't get what you want.

Uh huh, ultimately it'll be Doing-The-Right-Thing against Doing-What-You-Want... Nonetheless I obtain bravery whenever needed =) You?

- Yeah, I suppose. Too bad Doing The Right thing IS what I want. But that also means that I don't get what I want. T_T

hahaha... well that's just life, we don't always get what we want, even though we do what we want... we can't compare with fairy tales... So there there, I'm pretty sure, there's a equal balance to what we do, we do the right thing, we'll be awarded in some way (even though it's not what we want, but we still get something in return, could be even better than what we expected)
