Sushi Zanmai, Sunway Pyramid

After an amazing Saturday night service at CHC yesterday, The Husband and I headed over to Sunway Pyramid for dinner. When asked what I wanted to eat, I picked Sushi Zanmai. (Finally! Been craving Japanese food for the past week. =p)


As always, the queue to get in and be seated was unbearably long. I think we waited for a good half hour outside! The management should totally work out a numbering system like the one that Kim Gary has downstairs or like the one that they have at The Gardens instead of making patrons wait in a straight line like primary school kids. Tsk tsk. So terrible. I'm just glad I wasn't wearing heels.

I ordered my usual soft-shell-crab-meets-kani-mayo stuff while The Husband opted for some prawn in egg bento meal thingy. As soon as I placed my order with the waitress, The Husband asked, "Why you always eat the same thing wan?" Hahaha. 10 years down the road and he still needs to ask?? =p

I personally think that these dishes tasted better at 1MK. :-/


Aside from what you see above, we also shared a Miso Shiru and I had a Soft Shell Crab Temaki in between. Of course, by then, I was too busy stuffing my face to remember to take any pictures. Haha. Didn't even manage to capture The Husband's dish before he slammed it. Oh well. But then again, the highlight of the night wasn't actually the food anyway, as we later discovered. Because sparks only really started flying when we were leaving.


But that's another story for another post. =)

Late Mornings, The Ultimate Luxury

Today, for the FIRST TIME since The Husband and I got married, we got to wake up late, without the buzzing of an alarm clock, the ringing of a phone, the knocking of the door, or the sound of people talking outside. I got out of bed at the unbelievable hour of 11:42AM after tossing and turning under the sheets for a couple of hours. (Back in college, I used to be able to sleep straight till 3PM before even opening my eyes. =p) When The Husband saw me get up and walk to the bathroom, he mumbled, "Good afternoon." But did he wake up then, too? Hell, no. The man finally got out of bed at 1:48PM!! And guess what? While walking to the bathroom, he sleepy-smiled at me and said, "Good morning."


@_@

Looks like age has really taken its toll on him.
Counting fail, AM vs. PM pun fail. Haha. =p

The Blast-Off Song / The Countdown Song

At this very moment, The Husband is lying down on the bed serenading me with worship songs and Sunday School tunes. (No, he's not the lovey-dovey mashimaro kind. Haha.) Out of the blue, he asks me what my favourite Sunday School song was so I told him it was, "Neh... that outerspace song ah..."


Well, "that outerspace song" as I remember it to be, actually has a name. In fact, it has two! It's officially called The Blast-Off Song but is also known as The Countdown Song to many. And it's freaking cute. =) (It's got actions, too. =p)




Well, this isn't exactly like the version The Husband and I used to sing
in Sunday School but it's the closest one I could find on YouTube.

UPDATE AT 10:25PM ON 10 FEBRUARY 2012: The Husband is in the bathroom taking his shower and I can still hear him singing Happy Birthday to himself. HAHAHAHA. Who did I marry?! Hahahaha.

We Same Age Now, Honey!

It's Friday, the 10th of February 2012. That makes it The Husband's birthday! =) The man turned 27 today. After 2-and-a-half months of waiting, we're finally the same age again! Haha. Same age from today onwards but just until the 21st of November (my birthday, if you didn't know), that is. =p


I'm super big on birthdays. But The Husband isn't. At all. *snore* So when he requested a simple dinner followed by a quiet night in alone with just me and my lappie full of TV series episodes (New Girl FTW!!!), I relented. It is his birthday after all, right? So the man gets to do whatever he wants.


But first, comes dinner.


I initially wanted to belanja him any dinner of his choice. Japanese, Chinese, homecooked food – ANYTHING! But guess what? The man chose to have pizza. *face palm* Not only that, he also ruined my plans by very sneakily paying for our food before the meal even came. -_-''' So I ended up just getting him a plastic cup of Chatime goodness on my dime. Wth. T_______T

That picture *points above* was a surprisingly nice picture of us. A very rare occurrence in our case. Haha. (The man has a knack for ruining our couple pics by making faces.) I really, really wish I could share it with you without any Photoshop bastardising but... bleh. Censorship rules apply as always. =(

Is It Real? Or Is It Just A Show?

I get really ticked off by people who find it their right to be rude to service staff and to those working under their care. Hey, they're all just working to make a living. That doesn't make you lord or king over them. Nobody's your slave or servant. Not even your Indonesian maid. We're all humans. Equal in human right but different in talents, gifts, learned abilities and therefore, different in the jobs and career paths we ultimately find ourselves in.


So boys and girls, if that nice guy or girl you've got around your arm isn't nice to everyone and anyone but you, he or she isn't really such a nice person after all.

Double Cheese Burger

Was all kinds of tired out from scrubbing the bathroom floor (we had the plumber over to solve some flush and water flow issues) so I decided to just whip up a quick lunch before heading out the door to show face at MCKL. Only thing I had the strength for (aside from Maggi Mee) was another Ramli Burger except this time, I didn't just put one layer of cheese on it, I layered on TWO! *salivates*




And OMG... even betterrrrr!!!


 Damn ugly but damn tasty.

Trouble In Partner Paradise

A working partnership is a lot like a marriage. You spend an inappropriate amount of time together, you share ups and downs, and you give birth to work you care about and represent the Creatives you are. Basically, it's like marriage, only minus the hugging, kissing and... urm... other stuff-ing. Haha.


In a marriage, there are two parties. Two people who come from two separate families with different customs, traditions and preferences. In order to keep the peace, and in respect to your spouse, you should never speak ill, talk bad or even breathe an inappropriate comment about your spouse's family, no matter how weird, queer or difficult they may be at times. These are boundaries you should never cross.


Likewise, in a working partnership between a Copywriter and an Art Director, there are boundaries that are not to be crossed in order to keep the peace and to show due respect to your partner. A Copywriter should never dictate art, layout or design, and an Art Director should never overstep the fine line between "just making a comment" and "giving instructions" on how copy should be written.


So to Art Directors out there who don't know the
unspoken rule of maintaining a happy partnership...
