Simple Chinese Dinner For The Cina Mui
After having pasta and pasta and more pasta at home since Monday, I was somewhat thankful tonight promised some Chinese cuisine instead. Finally! Rice! Haha. Nothing fancy though. Just a bit of Baked Chicken Wings and some Stir-fried Cauliflower and Broccoli, washed down with a glass of refreshing Nutmeg Juice.

Baked Crabs At Weld Quay Da Shu Xia, Farlim
While out for dinner with Mee and Dee yesterday night, I suggested we indulged in a seafood rarity (for me) – mud crab! Yums! Mee thought of trying some place new that she heard serves good crab but Dee and I promptly overthrew her decision and decided to go with a seafood place we were familiar with at Farlim instead. Eh, crazy meh? So rarely get to eat crab summore wanna go try try? Must go to guarantee ho ciak place lah! Cannot gamble this kind of things okayyy... Tsk tsk.
We decided to order two types of crabs. (If you're gonna do something, do it right. Make sure you go all out and put your whole heart into it. Why choose when you can have both?? =p) Our safe bet and regular order, which was the peng cim (i.e. baked mud crab with no seasoning, sauce, filling or whatsoever)...
The plain baked one was good. The salted egg one was better in comparison – tastier. But the best Baked Crab with Salted Eggs I've had (and the cheapest – RM24/kg) is still in Kepong. Gotta drag The Husband there one day lah. (The man doesn't like seafood.) It's been too long. Think the last time I went there was way back in 2010. Possibly earlier.
Anyway, as you can see from the picture above, we ordered other dishes, too, lah. Like vege and not-very-tasty Mee Tiau but... cummon. Seriously. Who cares about those when you've got CRABBBB, right??? =p

Me with the Baked Crab with Salted Eggs.
So, yes. That was our crab fest last night.
Should totally do it again sometime. Haha!

Roti Canai, My Love
Been longing for Roti Canai like crazy most mornings this couple of weeks. Unfortunately, my waistline doesn't quite agree with my stomach's enthusiasm so I've had to tarik handbrake and severely limit my intake. (You have no idea how much weight I have gained in this last few months, okay. It's shocking, horrific and 100% depressing! I'll blog about it one day lah. After I've come to terms with it all being FAT. T____________T)
But last Friday, my resolve crumbled.
I caved and gave in to the call of the carb.
Roti Canai GARING at Arati Villas with lots of Dahl and Kuah Ayam.
And oh, it felt sooooo gooood to be baaad...
*salivates at the memory*
Duku Langsat And Other Local Fruits
I super love this fruit. Used to buy a few KGs back home on my way up from KL at the Bukit Gantang rest area whenever I drove up on my own. (Ahh, memories, memories...) I also have massive love for Mangosteens. (Cooling.) And Rambutans. (Heaty.) Not sure when Mangosteens will be in season again but I'm a hundred percent sure the latter will ripen soon. (Been eyeing the many rambutan trees at Tanjung Bungah and Mount Erskine lately. =p) I just need to be patient. Ohmmm...
Paperclip Memory
If you didn't already know, I currently use a Panasonic Lumix GF2 for photography. (HOW COME YOU DUNNO???) I sold off the Panasonic Lumix G1 I won back in 2009 (DON'T TELL ME YOU DIDN'T KNOW THAT EITHER!) and topped up some money for my current Micro Four Thirds System that's smaller, lighter and easier to stash into my handbag.
Did my research and mulled over my decision for months before actually committing to the sale of the G1 and the purchase of the GF2 though. It wasn't an easy decision giving up the wonderful, camwhore-friendly, swivel screen of the G1. Haha. But I was looking for a more compact camera that would still perform like a DSLR so... the GF2 fit the bill at the time and I went for it.
Thing is, I have the memory of a paperclip. Even after months of research back then, I have no idea what's great about the GF2 now, and I don't know the specifics of its specifications anymore. Haha.
Dee: Your camera how many megapixels ah?
Pam Song: Dunno.
Dee: Huh??? How come you dunno wan?!
Pam Song: *shrugs* All I know is it's more than my old camera lah!
Dee: So your old camera how many megapixels?
Pam Song: *blink blink* Dunno. Less than my new camera lor. Hahaha.
Dee: -_-''' *gives up*

Aiya, why have to remember?
That's what Google is there for, right?? =p
Doll Instant Noodle
Mama found a new type of instant noodles at TESCO recently and The Husband and I love it. (He's had two packs. I've had two mouthfuls. T_T) It's called Doll Instant Noodle and the flavour that we like is – make sure you're seated for this – Pickled Vegetable. @_@
Haha. I know, I know. Sounds terrible, right? But don't balk at the thought first, cos you definitely won't be gagging at the taste. If you ask me, I think it tastes a lot more like beef stock than pickled vegetables. The Husband agrees. It's very flavourful and not at all sour.

One of the two pathetic mouthfuls I had. =(
I think The Husband needs to learn to share. =p
Anyway, I've been told it's almost double the price of Maggi and Cintan but... you guys should definitely try it if you get the chance. Worth it lah. Damn sedap. =)

The Result Of Carelessness... Not Anger
Boxed a corner of a shelf by accident while reaching into my wardrobe after my bath last night and tore off a slim piece of skin at the back of my middle finger, on my right hand. Haihhhhh...
