When No One's Around, GMail Talks To Me
"By all means use some time to be alone."
– Edward Young
I don't quite believe in married couples spending extended periods apart from each other. Unfortunately, The Husband's job requires that he be away from home 5 days a week. That's 71% of the time, every week. Meaning LOTS of time apart. -_-' And if you haven't figured it out already, I hate time apart. >(
Last night turned out to be my first night alone since we got married 2 weeks ago. I can't say I was very pleased to be lying down next to an empty spot, but I was definitely overjoyed by all the alone-time I'd suddenly found myself with before bedtime. Finally! Some time and space to do what I want, when I want it! =D
I had time to take a looong, hot shower, sort out the files on my lappie, burn out the old files I no longer need (read: Wedding WIP Folder =p), look through old pictures, upload them onto Facebook, leisurely read my email, watch sitcoms and dramas on ASTRO... heck, I even caught up on 1 episode of Desperate Housewives and 2 episodes of Grey's Anatomy while having supper last night!
All in, this married woman enjoyed
a very pleasant night alone last night. =)
Tonight's Supper
For the past two consecutive nights, The Husband and I have been feasting on kari campur-drenched Nasi Kandar topped with chicken and salted egg for supper. Totally yummy but utterly sinful, I know. Especially when consumed past midnight. Haha. But come on... it's just too good to let up! Plus, I've never been one to enjoy going to bed with an empty tummy so... it's all good.
Unfortunately, The Husband is out of town tonight and I've got nobody to go suppering with. (Boo hoo.) So, I've resorted to raiding the fridge downstairs for anything edible that requires zero preparation time. *desperate* Well, here's what I managed to scrape up for tonight's supper.

A little paler in comparison to the all-great Nasi Kandar but... hey, hungry beggars can't be choosers. *sad case* Magnum Mini will have to do for tonight. Think I've got some massive stocking up to do tomorrow though. I need to get me some junk to fill my tum-tum at night!
p/s: I'm still hungry. T_T

Pretty-In-Pink Princess
I think I've just fallen in love. With the new
Duchess of Cambridge's impeccable taste in fashion.
Ok, background story: Remember how I said I was going to cut my hair? Then remember how I recapped about that said haircut? Well, in the latter post, I published this picture with the following caption:
Me with the 20 June 2011 edition of HELLO! magazine
on my lap after a relaxing hair wash, before the cut.
Well, there, on my lap, lies the birth mother of this gush post
– the 20 June 2011 edition of HELLO! magazine.
Yes, yes... The Duchess of Cambridge made the cover. Again. *snore* Only this time, there was hardly anything about her royal husband or royal wedding. It was all about her, her poise, her fashion sense – so many pages, filled with stories and pictures of her, her, her! But the piece that captured my attention was one that spoke of a dress that stole my heart.
A slinky (but not-at-all skanky) rose-colored silk tulle Jenny Packham gown covered in sequins and Swarovski crystal beading from top to bottom except on its fluttery sleeves. One that she wore to the Absolute Return for Kids (ARK) gala in London. (Don't bother looking out for it if you're in the UK and thinking you're lucky to be there when I'm not. It's sold out. HARHAR.) I mean, just LOOK AT IT!!! It's a gorgeous dress!
And it's gorgeous front... AND BACK!
*swoons*
Excerpt from the article.
BUT... as you can see, that's a pretty pink dress that also cost a pretty penny. A sparkly dress only superstars can afford. Come on la... With a £3,835 price tag, I'd expect to be wearing a dress that's made to steal every damn spotlight on the planet and look like a gazillion trillion bucks, too! Haha. =p

Same Me, Less Hair
So I visited my local hair salon yesterday afternoon to snip off my wedding-purposed tresses. (FYI, longer hair makes for easier styling.) I can't say I totally recognise that girl I see looking back at me in the mirror right now but... we're becoming fast friends so I guess it's all cool. =)
Unfortunately, even with wet hair, I felt like I didn't really like the style of the cut. :-/ So I decided to voice my concerns. I wanted more layering and texturing along the front to frame my face. This was a straight cut all around! How Chinese highschool-looking! Eeyerrrr. But they insisted on showing me what it looked like dry before they cut any more of my hair off. Alright by me if they didn't mind the extra effort, I suppose. So after blow drying...
Here's a pictorial recap of what happened.
Me with the 20 June 2011 edition of HELLO! magazine
on my lap after a relaxing hair wash, before the cut.
The stylist came by and we had a short discussion about what he was to do and what I was expecting to go home with. I showed him the pictorial references of what I wanted, he nodded and got to work.
More ex-hair.
You know, as much as I really wanted the cut, it has also been a long, long time since I've had hair this close to short so... I really try to keep from wincing each time I heard his scissors go, "Snip, snip, snip." T_T I think he cut off a good 9 inches of my hair yesterday!! *heartache*
After the cut, before the blow.
Nope. Still don't like it. I think it makes me look
like an adolescent schoolgirl. Phooi!
I'm good with the back though.
The stylist kept saying the cut was "very nice lah" and that that look was "in" nowadays but... whatever lah. I don't want to look "in", I want to look like ME! MY hair, MY style. *difficult consumer mode* So he very kindly obliged and snipped 2 more inches of hair off the front and along the sides of my face. Haha.
And finally, I was happy with what I saw! =)
So, to commemorate the happy moment, I slipped into the public toilet nearby and took some happy shots. This is me being happy in that said public toilet. =p
Then some lady came in and looked at me like I was half-past-mad and three-quarters-to-crazy so I drove home and took more happy shots in the privacy of my own room without judgement. Haha.
So? Whaddaya think? Ok ah short hair?
