My 1st DIY Haircut

Yup, I did it. I finally gathered up enough guts to cut my own hair. ๐Ÿ’‡๐Ÿป I mean, I always considered doing it myself – since I've always cut my kids and The Husband's hair – but I was just too chicken to la. Haha. Until today! How much hair did I cut? Snipped off 9 whole inches, to be exact. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Yeah, I said CUT; not trim. DIY hair trimming is child's play la. I already did that back in high school. But we're in the big leagues now yo! Haha. I think I qualify for my #badassbarber badge liao la after this. Totally feel like a semi-pro hairstylist now. And totally deserving of a self-pat on the back for my self-cut. Hahaha. #syoksendiri

So how do I look after my cut??

Tadaaaa! Not too bad la hor???

I'm somewhat surprised that there's still so much length to my hair after my cut – 9 inches!!! – but this is definitely layered max. To be honest, I would have preferred a shorter cut with slightly less layers but I have zero idea how to achieve that. LOL! I just watched a YouTube video and tembak.

Me and my weapon.

Bought that silver thinning scissors from Olive Tree in Korea when I went there with The Husband end-Dec, early-Jan. Looks so pro, right? Hahaha. No regrets la, honestly. Expensive but totally worth the money. The earlier Daiso one I was using was so lousy I couldn't even thin short hair properly. It also kept cabut-ing hair out while I thinned my kids and The Husband's hair. Fail!

Not shown here is the Daiso hair scissors I used to cut off the big chunk of hair. Soooo lousy it's not worth taking a picture with it la. It took sooooo long for me to cut through my pathetically thin ponytail, man. And while I cut I was groaning with regret. Dunno if end up the cut would look like shit or not. LOL. And I don't have luscious locks to begin with, ok. If I had thick hair sure die la. Confirm cannot cut through it already.

Anyhoo, if anyone is going to Korea, please let me know! I tumpang you buy the Olive Tree hair scissors then pay you back, ok? Thank you many many!

Why now? I figured there's no better time than this to try DIY haircutting lah. Since I'm going to lose all my hair in a few weeks anyway. Might as well make the most of this experience! ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ™†๐Ÿป๐Ÿค— #lookonthebrightside #thinkpositive

As for the hair, I'm keeping
this little bunch for memory's sake.
Because I'm sentimental like that. ๐Ÿค—

#1 On The Suffering Scale

Caught a bug while at the hospital two days ago. Fever brought with it the flu which – as fate would have it – has developed into full blown sinusitis because Life's like that, right? She likes to kick you when you're down.

Sinusitis is one of those things that I just cannot tahan la. The pain that radiates from the inside of my face just steals all my energy and kills me. From the inside out. Ala Aliens. ๐Ÿ‘ฝ #80smoviereference But I be like Ma'am Sigourney!! I will survive!!! ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ’ช Eventually.

Anyway,  I look like crap now la. And I feel like crap's crap if there ever was such a thing. Told The Husband last night... In order of suffering:-

  1. Sinusitis – it totally tops the list.
  2. Cancer. ๐Ÿ˜‚

FOR SALE: BMW 1 Series 118i Sport Edition (2016)

And it's time again to say goodbye
to yet another baby. ๐Ÿ˜ข๐Ÿ’”๐Ÿ˜ญ

I'm super heartbroken about letting the 1 Series go because I really, really, really enjoyed driving this car. It's fast and zippy. Agile during urban drives and truly effortless on the highway. The feel behind the wheel is good and there's no rolling about. Handling is top notch. Shift the car into Sport's Mode and it's like instant #BeastModeON LOL. I love it!

It's like an agile feline – quick and light on its feet – went out and met a hunk-a roaring, macho beast, had an affair and this is its love child.  ๐Ÿ˜‚ A driver's car, for sure. Mechanically operated handbrake. Rear-wheel drive. Just some things keen drivers will appreciate.

It's compact size makes it very easy to maneuver through heavy city traffic and makes it even easier to park. The leather seats are super comfortable – they hug you in all the right places – and they make long drives a pleasure to take. And the colour... Don't get me started on the colour. I super love it!!! I mean, who wouldn't??? Look!

BMW 1 Series 118i Sport Edition (2016).

Colour: Midnight Blue.

Regularly polished and waxed.

Always parked in the shade (basement carpark).

Rear-wheel drive – the last of its kind, making it a collector's item.

Still under full free maintenance service and warranty by BMW.

BMW LED headlamps with absolutely beautiful
daytime running light that resemble halos.

1 loving owner.

Brand new tires, changed April 2019.

A driver's car with a proper mechanically operated handbrake
– something a true driver will appreciate.
(Not shown cos my phone not wide-angle enough. ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜‚)

Less than 50,000km.

For me, it was a real pleasure to own and drive the 1 Series. I'm sure you'll feel the same way. RM120,000 negotiable. Drop me a comment if interested or send me a WhatsApp message! ๐Ÿ˜

Can you continue to sing this to your God regardless of your situation? Cos I can. And I can because my God's plans are good, for He is good.

For I know the plans I have for you,”
declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you
and not to harm you, plans to
give you hope and a future.

Manggis Vs. Monkeys

Mama bought mangosteens today. And I LOOOOVE mangosteens. And langsat. And dukong. And rambutans. And also recently, durians. (But I prefer the sweet kind. ๐Ÿฌ #amateur #donttellmyAhMa) Yup, I'm your local, seasonal fruit kinda gal. So when I spotted the mangosteens sitting in a bowl, I went...

Pam Song: Wah!!! So many manggis!! ๐Ÿคฉ

JJ: Where? Where?? Where are the monkeys??? ๐Ÿ’

Living With JJ In The Future

JJ always tells me he wants me to live with him when he's older and has his own place. Sometimes, he tells me that we share a unit. Other times, he tells me I should be on one floor, and he will buy a unit on the 11th floor of the same condo and live there "together" with me. He usually talks about this whenever we're in the lift alone and it warms my heart to hear him speak this way about our future cos... you know la boys. Once they grow up, they no care Mummy no more. ๐Ÿ˜ข #realitiesoflife #facingthefacts

Today was another day for another
such conversation with my youngest-born.
But with an unpredictable twist.
Because JJ is unpredictable like that.

JJ: Mommy, next time can you live with me?

Pam Song: Caaaannnn... ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜˜

JJ: *matter-of-fact-ly* Because I cannot cook yet.

Pam Song: ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿคจ๐Ÿค”

Right. *rolls eyes* My clingy, loving son is gone and his very-pragmatic, tham-ciak split personality persona is back to rule the day. ๐Ÿ™„ #kenaguna #likeJekyllandHyde

Do You Have A House?

As heard coming from the backseat on the way back down to KL after a busy week of seeing contractors and getting quotes in order for our Penang house reno to (hopefully) commence ASAP so we can move in on schedule.

JJ: Kor Kor, will your house have a lot of sweets?

JZ: I don’t even have a house!!! ๐Ÿก *wrings hands in the air exasperatedly*

 JJ: *sadly* Me also. ☹️

LOL. Kids. They really crack me up la.
Talking about home ownership at 4 and 6. ๐Ÿ˜‚

A Day Of Goodbyes & Gifts

Our time in KL is coming to a close. It's the last week of school so I'm cramming in as many "goodbyes" as I can before we leave this place we've called home for so long. It's bittersweet but this move has been a long time coming anyways so I guess we've dragged it out for as long as we can already as it is.

This morning I had breakfast with the AS CCF volunteering parents at the pondok near school. I wish I thought enough to take pictures of the lot of us together one last time but alas, I was too busy talking and eating that it slipped my mind until now that I'm writing this. Boohoo. Wasn't expecting to receive anything but I ended up coming home with a surprise parting gift, too. ๐ŸŽ

So grateful for my short but sweet time serving the Lord together with these wonderful, self-sacrificing parents who get together weekly in spite of their busy schedules to do all the little things that make a big difference in the little lives we've been blessed with. ❤️

Picked JJ and then rushed off for another appointment. Lunch turned out to be a surprise farewell at House + Co, BSC. Was invited for lunch only actually... but then mana tau, got gift and kena belanja also. Paiseh only. ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜…

Truly blessed to have crossed paths with some really nice people during our time here in KL and during our short stint at AS. I will really miss the friendships, the community spirit and the parents and children we've met and gotten close with.

I then come home after picking JZ from school (kereta sapu in service daily ๐Ÿš•) and of course, The Husband has to wet-blanket all my fun la, right. Because that's what husbands do, right? Right?? #masterkilljoy Naturally... So...

The Husband: Eh... why people keep giving you gifts wan?

Pam Song: Because I'm nice la!

The Husband: I don't get it. How do you do it?? Why they always give you gifts!?

Pam Song: Ya la, ya la. Everybody likes to give me gifts except my husband.

The Husband: *blink blink* Because I'm the greatest gift wat. ๐Ÿ˜ #shameless

Pam Song: ๐Ÿ™„

The Husband: Eh... but why do they give you gifts??? Puzzling la.

ZZZ... SOME people ah.
