Calvin and Hobbes Say It Best. Or Maybe Just Hobbes.

"I think we dream so we don't have to be apart so long.
If we're in each other's dreams, we can play together all night."

– Hobbes

Let's Share Some Secrets

1. I'm secretly pleased that I can't donate blood. It's not cos I'm selfish but cos I have a slight fear of needles. And cos them doctors/nurses just can't seem to get at my blood – except those who work at the blood bank – without bruising me and stabbing me a million times over with a hundred million types of needles in a thousand million needle sizes. T_T

2. I'm secretly pleased that I fry awesome "Pek Chiau ta cien" (read: plain ol' fried White Pomfret without any sauce or garnish) like my Ah Ma did. (Don't believe me, ask my ex-housemates.) It's basically ingredient-less – except for table salt – but somehow, few people manage to fry it the way I like it. =p

3. I'm secretly pleased that my signature hasn't changed since I was 12. And I'm pleaser still – Engrish fail maximum but nememai lah =p – that it's also a not-easy-to-forge signature. (Some have tried. And failed. =p)

Ok. Your turn.

Best RSVP Yet!

Ok, remember those Save The Date cards The Fiancé and I sent out months ago? Well, I'm pleased to say that EVERY ONE OF MY FRIENDS have responded with a "Yes", "No", or "Maybe" like I hoped they would. (I'm so proud of you guys!!! =D) (Can't say the same about some names on The Fiancé's guest list though. =p) And after receiving a myriad of responses (and response types), I must say that it was this sweet snail mail RSVP from Lissa & BF that really stood out:

Awww, thanks for responding and for putting in the extra effort, guys! (Although it's obvious it was the GIRL who picked the card and wrote in it. =p) If you were my Sunday School students, I'd totally have rewarded the both of you with big, bright, shiny star stickers on the chest. =)

XOXO,
Pam Song & S
(Although it's also obvious that it's just
the GIRL who's expressing her excitement
and blogging her thanks online. Haha.)

Because It's Important To Be That Kind Of Woman... If You Want That Kind Of Man

My MBP's wallpaper as of end-November 2010.

"Don't be the woman who needs a man.
Be the woman a man needs."

Because it's important to be that kind of woman in life if you want that kind of man in your life. This wallpaper was inspired by this post on That Kind Of Woman.

Same Same But Different

Last Thursday, I decided to put in a little extra effort with my dressing. Woke up, washed up, dug through my "From KL" boxes (yes, they still exist -_-'''), picked out my black, peep-toed stilettos with shocking pink insoles and wore them to work with a simple black dress. A lot of work for an understated look, I must say.

*raises one eyebrow*

Anyway, I've always liked the fact that, in spite of being "just black", they come with a little more pizazz than other "just black" stilettos I have and have seen around and about town thanks to their shocking pink insoles that give them that subtle shock factor I so enjoy.

But that's not the point of this post.

This is:

Taken just before putting on my shoes for lunch.

Somebody else in KRPG has slippers
in the exact same shock-factor colours! =D

Gandhi Knows Best

By Francesca of Idea Obscura via Yes And Yes

Imma have one of these framed up big big on a wall one day. (When I have my own big big wall, that is. -_-''') In the mean time, I'll settle for a miniature 5R in a 3-for-RM10 IKEA frame or something. You can download the High-Res file here – courtesy of Francesca, of course – and do the same. =)

Secrets Dreams Tell You In The Night

Do our dreams tell us things we already know but refuse to admit? Or do they speak of the issues deep within our hearts – things that trouble us – that we can't pinpoint in real life? Or do they tell tales of issues that plague our minds that we are otherwise unwilling to face? Or do they alert us to what's coming – like a silent heads-up – so we don't get taken by surprise? What secrets do dreams tell in the quiet and darkness of night? And do they really mean anything or nothing at all?
