Oh em gee, I think I just watched
the last episode of Gossip Girl Season 2.

And I tell you, the drama's crazy-insane!

If you haven't watched it yet (pfft, laggard), you better prepare yourself for what you're about to see. Cos in "The Goodbye Gossip Girl" episode, Dan meets... Little Jenny becomes... Lily and Rufus are now... Blair and Chuck finally... Vanessa and Nate have decided to... Serena discovers that... Carter was helping... Georgina specifically asked for... Gossip Girl is going to... And then... And then...

Left a frivolous comment on a whim and ended up winning myself a pair of tickets (out of the 30 pairs that were set to be given out) to watch the Premier Screening of the 2009 computer-animated 3-D feature film from DreamWorks Animation and Paramount Pictures – Monsters Vs. Aliens!

And, mind you, it wasn't just any El Cheapo Premier Screening. The movie was in THREE-FREAKING-DEE WEI! Lose the damn 3-D glasses can kena fine RM150 wan. -_-' Anyhoo...

Haha. So many exciteds.

Sorry lah, I've been a 2-D movie gal all my life. Lagging kau kau. But to tell you the truth right, I was so blur that I didn't even know it was a 3-D movie till they started handing out the glasses. HAHA. See lah. I can join a competition, win it, then not know what I competed for. Haha. Fail.

The movie? Ok ok lah. The 3-D show-off bits (i.e. the meteorite and bouncing ping pong ball) at the beginning were fun. Thereafter, the plot lost my interest so... bleh. Awessum 3-D, but not so awessum storyline. I thought that the lead lady toon was hawt though. In a girl-next-door kinda way. (Yes, I check out toon girls. And no, I wasn't cheating on Pop Princess. She was a different kind of hot. =p)

Anyway, enough about the movie.

Perseverance

Hmmm.

Perhaps Perseverance does work in the favour of the persevere-e when it comes to life in general, career and some of the other things we pursue and hope to attain in time to come.

But does Perseverance
really apply to all things?

Cos when it specifically comes down to a man's pursuit of a woman, how much is too much effort to put into The Chase? How much is too much to give? And how long is too long to wait? A month? A couple of months? Half a year? A whole year? Two? Three or more? (I'm not exaggerating. People do wait this long. Take my word for it. I know.) But come on... is there even a deadline to The Pursuit if you're sure she's the one for you?

I don't know.

But what I do know is this: I consider myself extremely blessed to have experienced what it's like being on the receiving end of this steady persistence. Cos, to be really honest with you, it's a nice feeling. Being pursued relentlessly and being in the know about it – it's nice. And if anything, to me, it's an honour knowing that someone (still) considers you a worthy "investment" (of their time, effort, money, etc...) over extended seasons (though faced with "drought" and "famine" of sorts at times). A great one.

But then it got me thinking:

So what's the real deal with this BGR,
Man-On-The-Hunt, Boy-Wants-Girl issue now?

Does the guy with GUT, GULL, PLUCK and COURAGE end up with the girl? Or does the one with PERSISTENCE, TENACITY, ENDURANCE, LONGSUFFERING (why does that word have to sound so negative???) PATIENCE (ahhh, found a better word) and STICK-TO-IT-IVENESS be the one to whisk her off into the sunset when the credits roll?

You tell me.

Cos I've heard it said a million times over that those who dare, win. But is being daring all there is to snagging the girl of your dreams? I'm not so sure of it anymore. Cos I found that Persius put it pretty eloquently, too. He says, "He conquers who endures." And maybe – just maybe – the man could be right.

We're all reeling in shock from this evening's discovery.

Photobooth is gone! Like, she left us! GONE! BYE BYE! SAYONARA! CIAO! TOODLES NOODLES GOODBYE STUPID MONKEY SWIMMING IN THE SEA KIND OF GONE! And she did it kthxbai style WITHOUT even the courtesy of giving us a simple kthx summore! ROAR!


Thank goodness we were swift. (I clued in when she grabbed her two never-wash-before jackets on her way out.) And she was scatter-brained. (Left her notebooks so she had to come back for em.) So we managed to catch her for a quick crying session farewell by the lifts.
