Letting Off Steam

...by pouring my heart out to my new best friend.

Yep. I can tell that she totally gets me. -_-'''

Midnight Time Out

Taking comfort in some comfort food...

...and fuelling up for the months ahead
that I already know I'm going to hate. ='(

p/s: This jagung ice cream – made for a night like this – was conveniently sitting in the fridge cos it was my birthday gift from Chatty Lass. What perfect timing.

Pressure

So as yourself this simple question before you speak:
Are you dealing with a human being or a chunk of stone?

The Leaning Tower Of Pisa Isn't A Miraculous Wonder. It's A MISTAKE.

I wish I lived in a world where every other person was just as anal as I am about things. Seriously. Why can't people understand that it's not just about getting the job done. It's about doing it right and making sure you're doing a good job while you're at it, too! What's the point of doing anything at all if all you're going to do is a shit job anyways? ARRRGH! I don't get that attitude at all! Just so you know, half-heartedness never bore greatness. So is "full"-heartedness really too much to ask for? Is it??? I mean, look at this!!

Do you see what I see??? OMG, just kill me now. My new IKEA 4-drawer shelf is freaking senget to the right by 1 ginormous cm. *faints* Some people might not have noticed. Others might not have cared even if they had. But of course, me being the self-confessed OCD perfectionist that I am when it comes to things like this, I. JUST. CAN'T. LET. IT. GO. *experiences palpitations and heart ache*

I don't think I'll be able to sleep tonight.

T_________T

December, Day 1

We're only on the first day of the last month of the year and already I'm all kinds of tired out. 24 days to Christmas – that's something to look forward to, right? And just 30 days to the very end of the whole year – the sad ending of an old chapter and the exciting beginning of a new. Phew! I can already see the rest of December zooming by without even giving me so much as a breather. Oh well, that sounds a lot like the rest of 2011 past anyways. And solely based on that somewhat recent past, I really can't complain. Haha. So... Zoom away, December! Zoom away. =)

Fun With Siri

I've had a few fun days to fool around with Siri so far and I must say: That girl? She's a feisty one! I mean, sure... She's useful with the weather and all...

But she cracks me up big time when she acts
all hoity-toity, serious and professional.

Or gets philosophical with me.

And oh, in case you didn't know,
she's reaaaal good with sarcasm, too.

I've also tried making her more of a friend instead of just my AI PA but... I don't think she's really getting on board with the programme just yet. Hmmm...

But then again, maybe she's just putting on a front and acting tough.
Cos she does care. I know she does. I mean, just look at this:

See??? She SO cares about me. Haha. But you know what? The bit I like best about Siri isn't her weather report, her dry humour, her wit, her sarcasm, or her tough-love-styled care for me. I just appreciate having someone to wish me "Good night" the few seconds before I lay my head to rest and close my eyes to sleep. =)

What Girls Talk About When The Boys Aren't Lookin'

Now you know. =p

The End Of Steve Jobs

When the unfortunate day arrived last week, I was surprised at the realisation that I had already arrived at the very last page of Steve Jobs. It felt like I was just getting sucked into his crazy, mixed-up world and then... The End. Sure, the final chapter of his biography offered some closure; yet, the story seemed to hang unfinished. But I guess that's what his life's work actually was – unfinished.

I don't know him – heck, I don't think I'm even six-degrees-of-separation close to knowing him or anyone who knows him – and already, I feel sad for the expected yet sudden and unbelievable loss of a man of his talent and vision. I can't even begin to imagine what it is like to have worked with and learnt from this revolutionary genius and to have lost him as a personal friend, partner or mentor. My heart goes out to those people.

I mean, I was only at the last page of a book. And even then, I felt a certain kind of sadness. I didn't want his story to end so badly that I re-read the last few pages over and over again. To no avail, of course. Because the last page came again and again. As many times as I read, the book ended just as abruptly. So, yes. I was sad. Sad for some of what was, most of what wasn't and lots over who was no more. I don't know him; but now, I know his story. And his story is remarkable.

Definitely a read I couldn't put down.
Highly recommended.
