Skinnier Yet Fatter

I gained 2 kilos of weight fat during my 4 months of chemotherapy and then naturally lost it all again after chemo ended. I assume it's because I slept a lot more than usual during my chemo days because of the discomfort and lethargy. #thestruggleisreal

Being awake for long periods of time during the first and second weeks of chemo was extremely taxing. It took so much effort because I couldn't eat properly, and just staying alive as the drugs killed everything else within me, had already zapped 90% of my energy. Boy, am I glad those days are over!

Anyhoo, weight-wise, I've been back to my normal weight of 45kg for a few months now. My clothes fit again, and in fact, some of my bottoms are a little looser than I'd like. So the only thing I don't understand is this:

WHY IS MY RING FINGER STILL SO FAT
THAT MY RINGS NO LONGER FIT?? πŸ€”

Put that mask on 😷 and play up whatever else
people can see – i.e. eyes πŸ‘️ and earsπŸ‘‚!

NORWEX face mask in Pink Opal.

Damn semangat with the eyeliner today so must take picture a bit. Also my first time putting on earrings again since goodness knows when. Haha. I bought this jewellery set the week after my 6th and last chemo. Decided to get something pink to celebrate surviving breast cancer and completing breast cancer chemo. Immunotherapy still ongoing until now but... ah, well. We'll celebrate that some way, some how, some day later, too. πŸ₯³ Have a great Sunday!

Let's Go Lay Some Kids

JJ: Who is Por Tai’s son or daughter, Mommy?

Pam Song: Ah Ma lor. Ah Ma is Por Tai’s daughter.

JJ: *thoughtfully* So she lay Ah Ma... Then lay Papa... Then lay you... Then lay me...

Actually the logic is also salah maximum
but the grammar... the grammar, I just cannot.

Pam Song: Eh. Lay what lay?? We’re not eggs ah!

JZ: *interrupts me* EH!! I'M OLDER THAN YOU! YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO SAY LAY ME FIRST!!

Pam Song: 🀦🏻‍♀️ I give up.

Gas Vs Guest

Pam Song: *to The Husband* Gas is coming.

JJ: *perks up and exclaims excitedly* Wait, you mean a guest is coming??

Pam Song: Haha no, no. The gas man is delivering gas. Nobody’s coming to hang out.

JJ: Awww!!! Bats.

Haha. MCO-ing is tough! This is proof that my social butterfly is missing the company of other humans other than us. See same face until sien liao. πŸ˜…

Check Out My New YouTube Channel!

So, like, urm... this happened. πŸ‘‡

Desktop view.

I know, I know. This is totally out of character. The kids are usually censored kau-kau and the online world doesn't even know their real names. πŸ˜‚ BUT BUT BUT... it was The Husband who's actually been bugging me to start a YouTube channel featuring the kids for awhile now – 2-3 months at the very least. Ever since he started watching YouTube every night before bed. But hey, I'm not complaining cos, to be honest, it's been difficult blogging without involving the kids because my life is pretty much all about them at this juncture.

But this particular story truly began two afternoons ago. The Husband and I were sitting down in the living room with YouTube travel videos playing in the background, wondering if MCO will be extended a second time. Suddenly, he turned to me and said, "Eh... Start your YouTube la... What you waiting for?? Let's make some money la!" And proceeded to school me on travel YouTubers who earn USD just traveling and videoing themselves eating. πŸ™„πŸ€‘

In actual fact, it's me who's been putting this off all this while cos... you know... tired la... sien la... not feeling well la... busy la... next time la... Those every-day excuses somehow always got in the way of any productivity and action in this arena while I tried to keep our home life running as seamlessly as possible in spite of the hospital visits and treatment downtime. #cancersucks

And then out of nowhere, COVID-19 forced us indoors and
MCO stopped all social / outdoor / extracurricular activity.

Mobile view.

So, yeah. Fun With Sons is what you get when you put a business-minded husband, two bored kids, and a creativity-deprived mom at home for extended periods of time. Everybody needs an outlet and this is it. Sekian.

There Are Two Types Of Women

The first type considers the Movement Control Order – more fondly known as MCO – as the perfect time to pamper themselves with face masks, body spas, DIY mani-pedis and self massages. These women will come out of this lockdown season looking like a million bucks, all rosy, radiant and rested.

And then there's the second type who thinks:

"Heck it la. Ain't goin' nowhere; ain't nobody seeing me now.
Why waste a good bottle of face cream on a whole month in??"

I might have had a little bit of the spunk and spirit of the former back in my early to mid-20s to pamper myself and pretty up at home for just no reason at all... but no points for guessing which type of woman I am now. Oh how my 30s has changed me. Or is it motherhood? Hmmm. πŸ€”πŸ€

MCO Day Dunno-What

You'd think that being stuck at home on a month-long timeout would be fun on all levels in this day and age with smart phones, 4G, high-speed Internet and Netflix but... not quite so lehhhh... πŸ˜© Not when it's not really a holiday. And especially not when you have kids. And 106 moving boxes to unpack. And life goes on. And work goes on. And you've still gotta eat. And them kids gotta eat. And you have a husband who always eats. Heck, this ain't a holiday, yo! This is tougher than normal life!!!

The days have started bleeding into one another. I can no longer tell if it's Sunday or Monday, or Wednesday or Whateverday. The flip calendar on my tabletop has stopped being flipped. Mainly cos I haven't bothered doing any flipping, and also cos I haven't got the time to bother with trivial things like flipping a freaking calendar, between being Michelin gourmet chef, Oxford-grad international school teacher, award-winning freelance copywriter and super house manager all rolled into one Mad Murderous Mom. 😑

Seriously, the only bright side to this "STAY AT HOME" season is that we're living in our own place. I love our new home and it's really coming along. But uh... can I be alone in it for 2 seconds?? 🀣🀣🀣

Tea Exchange Programme

Tina from Taiwan surprised me with yet another pack of tea today! Aiyo, this woman! I gave her just a wee little bit of my favourite loose leaf teas to try in thanks for the superb Ali Shan Tea she gave me last month, and she balik-balik return me more tea. πŸ˜…

Taiwan Top Gift tea lagi alamak.
Where to hide my face, I ask you??
