1.88GB

They're in! They're in!

Wheeee!

Just got my Bangkok pics.

There are so, so, SO very many that I don't even know where to start! 1.88GB in total!!! That's no joke, man. Especially not if you're as anal as I am when it comes to picture selecting and editing. Ugh. Think I'll tackle the cruise ship wedding first. That seems like a slightly more manageable mountain at the moment. Will give you a sneak preview to My First Time In Bangkok, though. =)

More to come. Promise.

R.I.P

People, pets are NOT toys. They are as alive as we are. Stop treating them like play-things. They're not. Feed them. Care for them. Love them. And don't even think of keeping them if you're incapable of giving them even ONE of the three things I mentioned. Grow up. Cos when you do, you give them a chance to.

-----------

Rest in peace, little ones.

You'll always be remembered.

-----------

Those two deserve to be left for dead in Afghanistan
with their eyes dug out and their teeth pulled out.

Killer Shoes. Literally.

Check this out, man.

I almost tripped and fell just by looking at them.

Walking on these things require skill. Dun play play. BUT... it's not all high-fashion and glamour. You should see her tiptoe-ing across uneven ground. Haha. Funny. Very funny. Highly laughable. Especially when other colleagues do impressions of her. =p

Look at that lah. 5 inches high, wei. I never bluff you wan.

I don't understand how people make it through the day on 5-inch blocks of wood. It's like feet-binding all over again! But... BY CHOICE! Just a different kind of pain for different reasons (height), that's all. Tsk tsk. The things some women put themselves through for the sake of vanity – I'll never understand.

Fit In, Stand Out

I've always been a tad – for lack of a better, more appropriate word – kiasu when it comes to wanting things. Not in the materialistic sense, of course. In fact, it isn't really kiasu-ism cos it's the kind that only rears its head when I've got options to choose from.

Options – that's my problem.

They're a luxury for some, I guess. But in my case, I know that I don't really handle them well. You see, I don't like making choices. Choices confuse me. The whole decision-making process stresses me out. They send my mind in a downward spiral and cause my neurons to start firing blindly. They cause massive headaches and sleepless nights. I mean, why should I settle with just one? Why ONE!? Why can't I have both? Huh? Huh!? If I'm going to have it, I might as well have it all, right? RIGHT!? Aargh! So difficult! =(

So here's how I got to thinking about
this whole having-options thingy.

I was in the midst of some random mind-wondering (that's what you do when you have work but don't really want to tackle it just yet OR when you don't have work and are pretending to be busy doing something really important) when I started thinking about how I wanted to position myself in 2008. Like, how I wanted my personal branding strategy to be like. (Pfft.)

Didn't you know? Big-shot personalities and celebrities are now brand names. Sharapova is currently world No.5 (only) but she's the one raking in the mega bucks in women's tennis. Make every shot a power shot is definitely paying off for her. It's all about personality branding, my friends.

Now, where was I?

Oh yes. My strategy.

Well, I hit a blank wall. A dead end.
I came to a halt. An abrupt stop. A standstill.

Darn it, my goal was so oxymoronic that I wonder
if achieving it is even humanly possible!

Why?

Cos I wanted to fit in but stand out.

Fit In, Stand Out, yo!!!

How the heck will I ever manage that?
See lah! Kiasu summore lah! Haih.

And then I realised, that's a lot like being a relevant Christian in today's world. It's becoming increasingly difficult to stay relevant (Read: REAL), in tune with the happenings around the world and updated with the latest trends, without having to compromise and give in to the gentle and highly-inviting tugs of Temptation. Temptations that, if given into, will eventually lure us into embracing a life of sin.

It's tough fitting in and standing out.

But many are able, right? VERY able, in fact! Trust me, I've seen them. I KNOW them. So, why should I be any different?

In
the world but not of the world, yeh?

I can do it.

Belated x 2

Birthday '06 + Birthday '07
= 1 pair of Levi's Square Cut jeans.

This is the kind of Math I like. Haha. Thanks, guys. I love it.
Forget my birthday for another two years, will ya?

*winks*

I'm Done With 2007

And I'm back at work.

*grunt*

After 2 weeks of bliss-less (no, I didn't get that wrong) holidaying, it's back to the work mill for me. Darn it, I can't believe the holidays are up! They totally flew by, if you ask me. Just like 2007 did.

Was in the car sharing conversation sometime last year (Haha. More like just two days back.) when I posed the question, "What have you achieved in 2007?" "Not much," came the reply. "You?" "Hmmm, not enough," I said after some thought.

I think it's time for a little performance review.

Hmmm. Let's see... What'd I do in 2007?

NOTE: The following list of accomplishments-slash-happenings was not numbered by priority and was not ranked by order of importance. If you must know, the list was made according to chronological order.

1. I got attached.

2. I made a move from TOTT, friendsterblogs to Tinki Talks, Blogspot. (Tough decision to make then but now, I'm glad I did it.)

3. I found a job that I totally love, in a fantastic, almost-zero-politics MNC, that comes with great, fun-loving colleagues.

4. I achieved my target weight. (YES! Bite the dust, Mr Gap. You lose. Hah!)

5. I got confirmed after the agreed probationary term of 3 months and was given a raise after 5 and a half months. (Thank God for that, wei. So pokai the first few months. Living in KL alone really no joke.)

6. I faced Perth-ian demons. (The battle is over. I won.)

7. I found a newer, better, cleaner, homier place to live in, in a nice, quite-quiet, almost-self-sufficient neighbourhood.

8. I banished the Dark Queen.

9. I went for my first family holiday abroad. (Think Bangkok.) =)

10. I maintained my target weight till the end of 2007.

What did YOU achieve in 2007 and
what are you planning to achieve in 2008?

You're already on day 2.
It's time to start thinkin'.

Sunrise

Artist: Norah Jones
Song Title: Sunrise

Sunrise, sunrise
Looks like morning in your eyes
But the clock's held 9:15 for hours

Sunrise, sunrise
Couldn't tempt us if it tried
Cuz the afternoon's already come and gone

And I said
Hooo, hooo, hooo
To you

Surprise, surprise
Couldn't find it in your eyes
But I'm sure it's written all over my face

Surprise, surprise
Never something I could hide
When I see we made it through another day

Then I say
Hooo, hooo, hooo
To you

And now the night will throw its cover down
Mmm, on me again
Ooh, and if I'm right
It's the only way to bring me back

Hooo, hooo, hooo
To you

Hooo, yeah, hooo, hooo
To you
Woke up in my new room today. The bright morning sun was semangat-ly glaring down at me. (That NEVER happens in any of my other rooms.) It was 7:12 am. 7:12!? Darn sun, what you doing up so early!? Hold your horses and lie low a little while longer, will ya?

Sigh.

I don't, can't and will NOT do early mornings.
I simply refuse to. I wasn't made that way.

---------

"Sunrise, sunrise
looks like mornin' in your eyes."

Bah, humbug.

"Sunrise, sunrise
Couldn't tempt us if it tried"

Correct lah. At least the woman knows
what she's singin' about. Heh.

---------

I so need to get me heavy curtains for this room.

My new room.

*blink blink*

Whoa. It's a new year, too.

It's Here!

Let's keep this short and sweet, alright? (Happening people like me have lots of places to go and lots of things to do in very little time, ya know?) The most sincere of words are usually said with the least amount of frills and thrills, anyway. Haha.

Happy New Year, guys.
Have a great 2008.

=)

p/s: I don't feel like removing my Christmas banner just yet. It'd be such a waste to throw it into Trash after less than a month, right? It's sho pweddy mah. Aargh! I'm so not cut out for this disposable-banner thingy lah. Sakit hati only. =( How now?! Keep first. Decide later. =p
