It's Over

Duh Roads and I have been complaining about not having seen our desks at our work space for the past two months. (We're usually the ones with the neater desks. Not anymore.) Here's why:

The surface that used to be my desk.

Yuck. And if anything, I blame Work. She's been a real killer. Like, seriously. The timelines I'm given suck big time and there are instances when the demands made are just downright ridiculous.

*throws jelingan maut at the peeps
who brought this misery on me*

Thank God all that's over now.

And since I didn't take any days off for Christmas or New Year's – yes, I slugged all through the year-end holidays – I'm sure I'mma gonna enjoy the next two weeks of doing nothing but the following:

(1) Enjoy time with the family
(2) Travel
(3) Eat good food and get fat
(4) Sleep, sleep, sleep, wake up and then sleep summore
(5) Watch ASTRO and catch up on celeb goss on E!
(6) Catch up on Private Practice and Grey's Anatomy
(7) Blog more to reduce IOU posts
(8) Play with the new phone

Well, today's one awesome,
happy-happy day of hols in the bag.
13 more to go. Wheee! I so can't wait!

FYI

Was proof-reading my most recent post – the one about that new pretty-in-pink mobile from LG – when I realised: My hair looks like it's super jeng jeng GOLDEN BROWN now... and you guys don't know why that is! Haha.

This is the pic I'm talkin' about.

Don't worry. I wasn't at all surprised by the sight of it being that brown-slash-golden. But I didn't want you guys to be. Hence the post. (OMG, I'm so thoughtful!) It's the way it is cos...

I bergatal-ed and got my highlights
redone around the crown of my head
when I was out with Banana Girl last Sunday.

Banana Girl and I at the same hair salon
where I did my last round of highlights.

We were doing another one of our girlie days out.
It had been awhile cos... haih, work's been killin' me.

And since there's not much else to do at the salon other than mess with my handy mobile phone camera, I proceeded to entertain myself (and possibly the other customers) by doing just that.

My regular, compulsory hair-in-foil shot.

And then I got carried away.

Me likes me half-new hair! Wheee!

p/s: Another sorta salon-ish post coming up soon. (When I find the time to PS the pics.) I've got another new toy I've been aplayin' with. =p

I'm All For Ice Cream

Last Sunday night, after a good/bad (I can't decide cos the food was great but the company was... uh, moving on) steamboat dinner in Kepong (no Steamboat Boi there – boo hoo), I collected the LG KF3501 Ice Cream phone (yeah, that's what it's called =p) I was supposed to do a review on.

My LG and I – before we got acquainted.

Wheee! So many excitedness!

I can't remember but I'm guessing I was probably
bouncing around from all the excitement. Haha.

See? Haha. Excitedness kau kau. That was me being all happy-happy-joy-joy after receiving the phone AND BEING SO NOT READY FOR PHOTOGRAPHY OF ANY SORT FROM ANY ANGLE. RAWR! *smacks YapThomas*

And the "hero" who passed me my Ice Cream?

Mr Nicholas Chay from Nuffnang KL.

Yes, I call him The Torturer.

Okay, let me tell you why.

After I completed the necessary hi-how-are-you-I-hope-you're-fine talk, I looked him in the eye and asked excitedly, "Eh, Nicholas! So what colour is the phone lah? What colour?!"

FYI, there are three colours available – vanilla: pure white, strawberry: sweet pink and pistachio: sweet blue. I already asked him online when we were discussing our COD-styled Sunday night meet-up. Ask so many times, he die die tak mau kata. Kept changing topic. -_- Cis.

Anyhoo, the bugger sllloooowwwly (no, I'm not exaggerating) opened the box – konon like he sket the box painful liddat *rolls eyes* – and held this up *points below* and said:

"Here, this is your installation CD..."

*insert cheesy-slash-borderline-sly Nicholas grin here*

Ish! So kanasai. I wanna know about the colour of the phone, he come and tell me about boring manuals and installation CDs. How typically male of him. *rolls eyes* Hmmph! *blink blink* But, no. Wait. That sly smile tells me otherwise. I smell a rat!

So, I asked again, "Eh, cummon... So, what colour? Tell lah! I hope it's white or pink lor. Please don't tell me it's some other colour."

And then he takes a deep breath and says:

"And this is your guarantee card.
Just fill it up and send it in.
"

Wah piang! I can skin this boy alive, wei!
Ask him one, he answer two. -_-'''

But nevermind...

I'm a nice girl. Or at least I try to be.
So... what to do? Ask again. With a smile.
"Wei... Nicholas ahhh. What colour laaa?"

And he goes, "And... this is your phone."

SUCCESS! *beams* Finally.

So, here it is, guys. The very-sweet,
very-girlie phone, courtesy of LG – tada!

YEEESSSS! It's PINK!
AARGGGHH!!! I like!

I'm not particularly a pink person but ohmygoodness, this phone looks so delish in pink I almost peed my pants when I saw it. Haha.

Oh oh! And this is what I like. Before I got the phone up and running, I took some time to check out the tiny, little freebie that came with it – an ice cream handphone strap. Haha. It is the kiut-nessss! Looks like chocolate mint ice cream on a cone to me. =p

I love the "DON'T EAT" message.

This is what the phone looks like with it. =)

Chun-ted. Thing is, it's so pretty I don't think I'll ever have the heart to use it. It'll get so black and dirty swinging from my phone that my heart'll break into a hundred million pieces. ='( Can't let that happen. No, no. I'll use the handphone strap elsewhere. Some place that won't see the chocolate mint turning into just chocolate ice cream. Haha.

Okay, enough small talk.

I've inserted the battery.

Time to get the phone powered up
and running with a good first charge.

I hadn't yet set the date or turned on the phone when
t
hat screen came on cos I plugged the phone in for charging.

This next view of the phone in charge took me
by surprise and got me smiling to myself. =p

Glow glow wan!!! Haha.

But more about the phone and its features later. I'll need some time to mess with it first. Try it out and see what this pink strawberry can do. Haha. So if cannot talk about the phone, that means that there's only one other thing to do with it – CAMWHORE!

You knew that had to come sooner or later, right?

*grin*

This is so the kawaii phone lah. Haha. It's getting me itching for some hand action and face pulling. =p Maybe I should revisit my bimbo wannabe days while I do this review. It could turn out to be heaps of fun. Hmmm. Now, there's a thought!

Anyhoo... keep an eye out for the LG KF350 Ice Cream review that'll be coming up lah, okay? My favourite part of a phone to test is its camera. (Narcissism rules. And if anything, at least I've got the guts to admit it.) Ahhh, gives me the perfect excuse to bring out them rusty kawaii moves. Stay tuned!

Are You Unique Enough For You:nique?

Was invited for a soft launch at
HQ9, TTDI Plaza sometime last month.

A soft launch that required a lot of note-taking.

Haha. Totally felt like college all over again.
(Ahhh, I miss the good ol' days.)

A soft launch that had a freeflow of drinks and a buffet line for kai fan. (That's chicken rice for you bananas – che wah! Can say people already. Haha.)

It was the soft launch of Alliance Bank's latest, newest, funkiest, yuppiest, most unique credit card. Haha. And today, I finally found the time to start writing about it. -_-' (Yes, I know. My schedule is atrocious and it's pathetic how badly my posts are delayed nowadays. -_-) ANYHEW... Guess what it's called!

You:nique.
(Nuh-uh. No points for guessing, folks.
The answer was staring you in the face. Heh.)

And believe you me, like it's name,
this credit card's real unique, alright.

Listen up.

For one, it allows you to play dress-up with your credit card. Like, seriously! Apa macam mia picha pun boleh buboh. Asalkan tak kotor. Mesti halal – paham? Paham. Bagus. Masa untuk ber-moving on.

Haha. Kiddin'.

The two guys you see in the pic below didn't go on and on for hours just so I get to write two crummy lines on bad picture choice. Haha.

Our hosts (amongst a few others
who
are not in the picture) for the night.

Let me explain. What you get to do with You:nique is personalise your credit card with a picture of your choice. Either from the host of images from the library available, or you can get your own pictures and artworks uploaded into the system to be put on your card. The requirements are 1020 x 660, and a maximum file size of 2mb. And the steps are real simple. Just upload (or pick), arrange for cropping, then click to submit for bank processing. If all goes well and your pictures get Alliance Bank's approval and Halal certificate, you'll get your card in 2 weeks. Simple as that!

Some examples of personalised cards.

BUT...
(There's always a 'but', innit?)

My personal suggestion is to avoid pictures of boyfriends and girlfriends though. Haha. Nanti break up time... SUEY LIAO LAH! Got the fella's picture stuck on your credit card. But but but... even if you think you're so in love that you must must must have your partner's face on your card, *rolls eyes* don't worry. Masa break-up... (Argh, I'm so jaded!!!) ...masih boleh diselamatkan. All you need to pay is RM38 for a change of skin and they'll send you a new card. RM38 for the satisfaction of physically removing your ex. Not too bad lah. Haha.

But... I'm a Penangite lah. And Penangites are too kiam siap to even cough up that amount of money for someone who no longer matters. So... listen to me. Don't put temporal people on your card. Unless you all ten ten ten already, I think it's better to be safe than sorry. RM38 can buy FOUR McValue Meals and A FEW HUNDRED THOUSAND Hacks sweets already, you know?! Pandai pandai lah. Sekarang, ekonomi meleset. Jangan main main dengan wang.

Now, that brings me to my next point – you get to save (kinda sorta) with this credit card. All you need to do is swipe your card a minimum of 12 times a year and your annual fees get waived! So easy! And if anything, you'll already be getting a 3-year fee waiver on top of that. Not too shabby for the smallest bank in town, huh? They're playing David in a sea of Goliaths. Haha. Respect.

There's heaps for them to shout about lah, actually. Their rates, rewards and rebates are pretty impressive, if you ask me. They'll even send brochures notifying their users of new promotions and tie-ins with merchants. Credit cards don't quite get much better than this.

So who's eligible for You:nique?

Well, pretty much everybody
who's got a steady income.

  1. You can't be a student (Bank Negara prohibits your application – not Alliance Bank. You think what? They don't want your business? Haha. If can of course they take you also laaa. =p)
  2. You must be over the age of 21
  3. You must earn more than RM1,500 a month

And that's it! I think most people would meet the necessary requirements for this card lah. Personally, I think the target market for this card is very yuppie. And it's a good thing for Alliance bank, too! Yuppies these days seem to have bigger spending powers than the size of their bank accounts (or their brains, for that matter). Haha. Spend spend spend, swipe swipe swipe only. No need to think wan. Haha. Spend first, worry later. Tsk tsk.

Anyhew, if you already own a credit card to your name, all you have to do is send Alliance Bank a photocopy of your card, a photocopy of your IC, and your signature. You can even scan all the above mentioned necessary stuff and email it over to Alliance Bank. After all, everything's pretty much gone online these days. Alliance Bank mesti tak lag. =p

I guess Alliance Bank's tagline – Banking Made Personal – just got a million times more relevant and meaningful with You:nique. Indeed, the credit card is now really personal. Way to go, Alliance Bank!

Okay! Enough about the card.

At the event, I met my 'arch enemy' for the first time that night! Guys, meet Huai Bin of SixthSeal.com!!!

Fake smile only wan. Haha. Both mau buat professional. Actually, he's stabbing me in the back with his right hand. You just can't see the knife. And I'm a good actress with a high tolerance for pain. =p He's so terrible, he even copies my notes. Look!

Wah, my muka so tak syok. Haha.

My notes that night.

I know. I have no organisation whatsoever. -_-

But still...

I have a healthy self esteem. Tee hee. =p

Then I happened to met some DGMBians there, too!

Royalshortness and Yatz. Joshua Ong too
kuat PR already. Running about all night.
That's why he's missing from this picture.

Haha. Didn't know I'd see any of them there. Such a nice surprise. It'd been awhile since I last spent time with any of them. =) But let's get to more important matters. Who cares about enemies or friends when you've got...

FREE GOODIE BAGS!!!

Everybody had their own personalised goodie bags with their blog addresses pre-pasted on 'em. Good move on Alliance Bank's part, actually. Totally made me feel like we're ALL *ahem* You:nique individuals. (Ahh, see, I can pun, too! =p) Here's mine.

There were two gifts inside.

One was a bear.

*lifts eyebrow*

Totally made me go, "Heh?!"
But, the other... Now, that one I REALLY like.

TADA!!!

Stylo milo notebook sleeve-slash-bag from AGVA.

Thank goodness I got the black one. The others got brown and beige and green and all sorts of blah colours. (Heh heh.) Some have theorised that we're given our bags according to our blog colours. Hmmm. If so, I'm glad that Tinki Talks is black. Haha.

Tried it on for size and...

Wheee! It fits perfectly!

Thanks, Alliance Bank!

For the many glasses of Sprite I drank, the buffet kai fan, the bear, the lappie baggie and the great night out at HQ9! =)

Bobo In Da House, Yo

It's been a whole week since she's been around already so, I guess that kinda makes it time for me to start doing my introductions. Ladies and gentlemen, today, I'd like to introduce the girl who's been consuming all my late-night-slash-wee-morning hours.

Meet Bobo the miniature schnauzer.

That's her downstairs toy rat. Haha. She doesn't bring
it upstairs. And for that, I am grateful. That rodent smells!

Don't ask me about the name lah, ok?
I don't know. I didn't name her.
She belongs to The Housemate.

I must say, time spent watching her sleep and munch on plush toys have begun to royally eat into my already-scarce sleeping hours. -_-

Bad, bad, bad.

But but but...

She's so kiut!!! How to resist?!
And she's got the softest fur ever! I like!

*heart melts*

On a whole, I'd have to say I kinda like her now. Didn't quite before. But she grew on me. Still not as much as I liked my min pin, though. But... yeah. This hair ball's okay lah, I guess. So long as she stops barking the house neighbourhood down when I come home at night. Oh, and so long as she stops doing this:

Grrr.

But yeah. That's Bobo for you.

Salahs

Would you drink from this
seemingly innocent water dispenser?

Sold at Giant, Kota Damansara.

If you said "yes", I suggest you think again.

English damn fail. Haha.

I'd like to meet the guy who came up
with the name for this... thing. =p

Girls Will Be Girls

But who says boys can't be girls, too?

All it takes is the right potion and you'll be
having them scream, screech and squeal
like girlies on a walk-in-closet-induced high.

*snicker*

I Want What She Has
