The Mummy

NOTE: No spoilers ahead. (Just a whole lot of movie bashing. =p) Thread without caution.

Got me free preview passes to the movie premier of The Mummy: Tomb Of The Dragon Emperor, thanks to JC. (And The N Man, his wife and TV3, of course. =p)

And sure, I'm thankful and all for the free pass BUT lemmie tell you this: I wouldn't pay good money to watch it. No, siree. Here's why:
  1. It was lame. Like, all over, from beginning to end.
  2. There were a hundred and one inconsistencies in the movie. Especially when it came to the character's language of choice when communicating with the other characters.
  3. The characters were very poorly developed.
  4. The Mandarin in the movie was just so koyak. Even Michelle Yeoh's Mandarin was 'off', so don't even get me started on the ang mor boys' mandarin. Atrocious!
  5. Jet Li lost all his years of accumulated Wong Fei Hong cool points in this one movie.
  6. The CG was lousy. Very fake.
  7. It was soooo corny. Especially the cloudy ending. (You'll know what I'm talking about once you watch it.) *rolls eyes*
  8. The fighting was pathetic. So slow! My experiences in pillow fighting are, by far, more ruthless.
  9. The conversations seemed very scripted and unnatural.
  10. The love stories were not very well developed and were not believable.
  11. A critical scene in the movie that resulted in the whole adventure was censored.
  12. It was predictable throughout. Very predictable.

So, you know what movie premiers are for? They're for you to tell your friends that the movie sucks and that they should just save their money and not go. =p

I'm suppose to catch it tml night, but after reading quite a few negative comments, maybe I should find an alternative. Weekend movie prices are too expensive, need to spent it wisely. Haha

– Haha. Based on the movie trailer, I think Zohan's a better bet. Entertainment value will probably be higher.

ATTN: joshuaongys
– Haha. Bayar ke free? =p

ATTN: Baby
– Haha. So are you going to now? =p

ATTN: JoeJoe
– Whoa. That's true. Movie prices are crazy these days. I miss the RM6 days. Sigh. And if you haven't watched Dark Knight, I suggest you go for it. It's worth every sen you spend. SO GOOD! This wan is scum in comparison to that.

Haha. Now much is tickets in MY? In SG weekends tix cost us bloody S$10!! So I think you'll find yourself lucky. LOL. Yea I caught the dark night twice. IT's indeed damn gd!

Anyway, I still watched mummy in the end, thanks to my persistent friends. Haha. And it's, like what you said, BORING....

ATTN: JoeJoe
– Eh, you cannot compare exchange rate lah. It's pretty much dollar for dollar. In fact, I'm willing to argue that movies are cheaper in Sg. How much is a Long John Silver meal there? A movie ticket here is RM11 on weekends. Long John Silver's RM14 or so. You do the math.

And yes. Dark Knight rawks!

no she tak tau.......her mandarin in crouching rabbit-hidden elephant is super kayu lor....

Yeah. How we know who fathered the girl if it was censored.
