Lucky

My current addiction...

Artist: Jason Mraz (Feat. Colbie Caillat)
Song Title: Lucky

[Jason]
Do you hear me, I'm talking to you
Across the water, across the deep blue ocean
Under the open sky, oh my, baby I'm trying

[Colbie]
Boy, I hear you in my dreams
I feel your whisper across the sea
I keep you with me in my heart
You make it easier when life gets hard

[Jason & Colbie]
I'm lucky I'm in love with my best friend
Lucky to have been where I have been
Lucky to be coming home again
Ooohh ooooh oooh oooh ooh ooh ooh ooh

[Colbie] (Jason)
They don't know how long it takes
(They don't know how long it takes)

[Jason & Colbie]
Waiting for a love like this

[Colbie] (Jason)
Every time we say goodbye
(Every time we say goodbye)

[Jason & Colbie]
I wish we had one more kiss
I'll wait for you, I promise you, I will

[Jason & Colbie]
I'm lucky I'm in love with my best friend
Lucky to have been where I have been
Lucky to be coming home again
Lucky we're in love every way
Lucky to have stayed where we have stayed
Lucky to be coming home someday

[Jason]
And so I'm sailing through the sea
To an island where we'll meet
You'll hear the music fill the air
I'll put a flower in your hair

[Colbie]
Though the breezes through trees
Move so pretty you're all I see
As the world keeps spinning round
You hold me right here right now

[Jason & Colbie]
I'm lucky I'm in love with my best friend
Lucky to have been where I have been
Lucky to be coming home again
I'm lucky we're in love every way
Lucky to have stayed where we have stayed
Lucky to be coming home someday

Ooohh ooooh oooh oooh ooh ooh ooh ooh
Ooooh ooooh oooh oooh ooh ooh ooh ooh

I've got this thing for duets. The two-person, super-emo-love-song kind. A.k.a, the heart-warming, can-cry-until-mata-bengkak kind lah. Ahh, beautiful. This expression of music was written more frequently during the late eighties and throughout the nineties. (Before modern tung-tung-tung R&B killed it all. -_-) I secretly hope they make a comeback. =p (Haha. Yes, I'm that kind of girl.) Cos duets? Well, they get me every time.

I've only performed two male-female duets in my life. (I think. As far as I can remember lah. Karaoke sessions don't count.) The first, I performed to Aladdin's A Whole New World during Yamaha's annual music school showcase. (Talk about full-out corny, yo. Haha.) And as for the second, I've totally forgotten what song it was already. Like, no memory of it whatsoever. Haha. (Whoops.) All I know is that it was for a Valentine's Day play of some sort. (Dammit, I'm getting old.)

I think that it'd be nice
to sing another duet someday. =)
